I have been fairly impressed with the signings we have made since MB came in both in the youth ranks and to the first team.

    Costa
    Harrison
    Douglas
Bamford (for all we wish he had more Shearer in him)
    Casilla
    Meslier

All improved the squad even if we wish we could have got better players sometimes - they were good with what we could afford.

This season will be a continuation of that gradual improvement of the squad. We also have no idea of which players are ear marked as being ready to step up from the reserves.

For me Bielsa is as good as any manager since Wilko and may prove to be even better. The football at times is sensational and on others frustrating. Under Warnock and his ilk it was largely frustrating, rubbish and no fun to watch.

We have made real substantial progress but for some it is still doom and gloom.

This season will an exciting challenge - bring it on.
Meslier bamf from that group good rest bad exception Douglas due to injuries. We will find out how bad Harrison and Costa are to wait and see.
Warnock done amazing jobs everywhere he went simple answer to he's failures with us was no money he had no backing whatsoever and was bringing in players for 300k

The way people are talking about him is another Messi FFS.
Anyway, the club made a choice and we should all respect that and hope all comes off.
We need to strengthen the defense as that is what keeps you in games the rest can work out itself. I think the wigan kid is going to blow all of us out of the water as he is build like a tank and ready to go.
With you 100% on the Gelhardt lad.

Spot on, half decent PREM players are £30m. Rodrigo isn't half decent for the PL (Imho!).

Costa and Harrison both good - it took them a while to adapt to the Bielsa system. Costa before had free reign to attack and not defend.

He showed glimpses at the end of last season of real quality going forward allies to hard work.

They both fit into the Bielsa system well and he likes them so not much more to say.

Casilla also filled the need for w keeper we had. Improved what we had at the time and could play tippy tappy from the back.

Hopefully we will stay up and then you will see the squad continue to improve year on year.

The point I was trying to make was that overall Rodrigo is considered a top echelon attacking player - he's a Spanish international, which is a level of transfer we've not seen since the O'Leary days, even if his goal-scoring record doesn't look great in isolation. So I wouldn't judge him purely on his goal scoring record. That doesn't mean we've haven't still got a goal scoring problem to solve. I'd suggest we still also have a CB problem to solve at least.
What WTF is saying is he worth the money we will pay and are we going to get anything out of him on the park and they are legit questions. What the player has done in the past eg play for Spain is simply the past question is after are not so great year can he get his form back.
You know I was brought up amongst some of the most talented kids in au that ended up representing Australia and in fact, the coach that won the Japanese title was a star player and I destroyed him in the park. My club at the age of 15 after my first game the manager pulled me over and said you are going straight to the reserves. Cut long story short poor family had to work and was too stuffed didn't want to train And what could have been a great carrier was cut short at 18 cause family was more important than say breaking a leg or something similar.
Sorry for the long post but what I was getting back would I have achieved what I think i could have if things were different and the answer is I Don't know the circumstance change and like ROD no one knows yet. Are we going to win the premier league? finish mid-table? relegated? no one knows.

    This boy is quality.
dont look at his strike rate, hes more like Pablo but with a fantastic engine, can play left, right or through the middle, exactly the sort of versatility that Bielsa looks for. usually in double figures for goals, but missed some games through injury last season, and coupled with how cr@p Valencia were didnt get so many.
This is a player that R Madrid, Barça and Atletico were fighting over last summer with numbers in the region of 60-100M being thrown around.
Anyone thinking hes not good enough for Leeds needs to give their head a wobble, hes one of the best players in La Liga ffs!
But he suffered from injuries dude look at Douglas And Fors and our old man who took ages to come back to fitness and only more or less played in the second half.No one is questioning his ability or what he has done some are questioning can he do it again? The club thinks he can and that is all that matters.

"Played tippy tappy from the back"!!!!!! Are you seriously suggesting that Casillas "exploits" as an outfield player did ANYTHING but cost us goals and games??????? I know your nick denotes your outlook, but I don't think I'd want what you're on even if it was on offer, prefer some measure of reality.
