Are you so naive and gullible that you believe "reports"?????

Performance in the pitch is the first, last, the only criteria that counts, not even the wisdom if Bielsa is a greater arbiter of the truth.

And are we to believe that the acquisition of starlets such as Casilla and JKA were met with an equally enthusiastic thumbs up from Bielsa, as opposed to a resigned "well if that's the nest sh1t you can provide, I'll do my best with the (or kill them in the process)"?

I believe the truth is that MB took a squad that was relegation bound (worst record in the second half of the championhship) with basically the same squad. I don't think that Casilla was a step up from Green and we did get Harrison on loan.

Bielsa is the arbiter of truth. we play the most beautiful football outside the prem and it's a joy to watch.

if he wants rodrigo then he's good in my book.

we aren't going to be in a relegation battle and it's unrealistic to expect champions league football the first season up. However, I'm pretty sure our chances of relegation are less than European football next season.

Wish I was so clever, and yet I prefer not to be so gullible and naive.

Richarlison slightly less attractive, appeared 36 times in the league for Everton, strike rate of 1 in 2.5(ish) in all competitions

Rodrigo appeared for Valencia 27 times in 2019/20, strike rate 1 in 5 in all competitions (and worthy of note that that drops to 1 in 7 in the league, and has dropped off a cliff since the 2017/18 season, so were taking a gamble on being able to reverse AND improve that, on a player who last played in the PL in 2010/11. Better ways to spend the clubs money)

You're spot on, if we were linked with any of the three players you refer to, happy days. Not so much with a crocked player (passed medical or not) who scores less frequently than Bamford, who at least we know will run his heart out for the club AND contributes while doing so.
Yes, you did cherry pick wtf. Your words above are "and worthy of note that that drops to 1 in 7 in the league....". Thats a selective highlight - cherrypicking.

Ok, agreed as to what Bielsa did with a mediocre squad, never questioned that, but we differ on GKs as BPF was, by some measure, better than Casilla.

Sorry, but Bielsa is NOT an arbiter of truth, only opinion, until his opinion is borne out by performance on the pitch which I maintain is the ONLY true arbiter.

So remove that comment. The rest stands on it's own despite your desire for it not to.

And even if you want to remove the comment, it makes it no less true (just as your wish to highlight his performance in the Champions League (you expect us us to be competinthere next season?) is selectively beneficial, no?

Speak to Cherrypie about Champions League comparisons!

We played the best football in the Championsip and laid waste to opposition who in previous seasons would have been feared, no argument on that at all.

To pretend that that is enough with the same squad to even survive in the Premiership is pure, unadulterated, gold-plated, copper-bottomed idiocy.

We, at present, DO NOT have the strength or cohesiveness that Blades had when they were promoted, and unless we strengthen the squad with those who can bring immediate PL experience and PL quality, we will struggle to survive.

HOs optimism is genuinely to be applauded, but it's like trying to turn back the tide by sheer enthusiasm to do so, IT WONT WORK.
