No doubt there will be some outcry on here today about letting all these youngsters go, Ardley doesn’t have a clue, Hates playing younger players etc etc....But actually, I’m not sad to see him go.

Fair play to him in taking his future into his own hands and good luck to him, but if he hasn’t got the fight or belief in his own ability to break in our first 11 then he’s not the type of player we need.

He had numerous opportunities last year to show what he was capable of and barring one or two wonder goals he actually contributed very little in my opinion. Far too light weight, poor positional sense and very often pondered too long on the ball for a player of his position. If he can’t cut it consistently at this level then I have doubts about how high he will go in his career.

Sam was offered a contract to the level as to which the club thought he was performing at and weren’t going to budge...and rightly so in what I’ve seen of him this year. If he wasn’t a Nottingham lad who had come through our system then there’d be very little outcry in seeing him leave.

Well done Notts, I’m sure we’ll see better players take his place. I have no trouble with us scrapping or youth system if we continue to attract ready made young talent with a higher sell on value.

Its not about belief is it sometimes your face doesnt fit and his didnt.

Played well scored axed next game yeah sounds a great policy that does.

My opinion is we are going nowhere with Ardley and we will be in this league again next season.

Turner and Mccory need binning off never fit.

As I've said a few times, he wasn't included in the pre season training video so the writing was on the wall. What interests me is the other players who appeared to be absent:

    Turner
    Thomas
    O'Brien
    McCrory

I'm not convinced we've seen the last departure.
McCrory is injured and all over Notts Videos. God knows on the other 3 but who cares about Turner. Thomas and O'Brien would be a loss. A lot of people seem to have pretty short term memories on Osborne. He was one of our own and did put in a few good performances last season in the games he got ( I watched a fair few of them on iPlayer) but he certainly isn't better than our current options in his position. I would sooner he stayed and offered competition to those better than him but his ambition dictates he won't. I reckon he will end up at Chesterfield just a feeling that is all.

I just straight disagree with that assessment. How can you "bar one or two wonder goals" for a start? Goalscoring wingers are an asset in themselves. The lad only played a handful of games and yet his contribution was tangible, including the goals. I also noticed he "worked back" and helped out his full-back far more than Enzio ever bothers to. Obviously it's a gamble for him to turn down what he was offered at Notts and he wouldn't be the first talented player to drift out of the game, never getting the opportunity to fulfil his potential, but I wouldn't be at all surprised to see him end up playing at or above our level at some point in the future.

Absolutely nothing to do with current capabilities and competition for places? You’re probably right, we probably should have let Enzio or Roberts go in order to keep Osbourne.

I’m sorry to see him go. But he wants regular first team football, we can’t guarantee that. No big drama.

As for Turner & McCory. Why do we need to get rid? Bring another left back and centre half in, these two are more than adequate for NL.

Granted Turner was poor in the play off final and he’s had his injuries, but I wouldn’t bin.

You were doing well until the last line. Have you not noticed the amount of time Enzio spends helping out his full back? It's too much in my opinion because it negates his forward threat a bit, but he's obviously playing to the manager's instructions.

Regarding Osborne, I'm a bit disappointed to see him go. This was always going to be his make or break year at Notts, now we won't see if he was capable of making the step up. I think he'd be a decent signing for a National League club, I'll watch his future career with interest.

Even Eugene Dadi scored the odd wonder goal....but from where I was sitting that was actually his only tangible contribution. The same goes for Sam Osbourne, you cite him working harder defensively than Enzio but I can only assume that’s through biased spectacles. It’s not a common or popular belief in here but Enzio worked tremendously hard last season, and yes, even harder than Osbourne.....but to a certain degree this is subjective.

He not only drifts out of games, but akin the Rose actually became a hindrance in looking out of place, too weak and unsure of what to do with the ball....all too often gifting it back to the opposition. He has a lot of work to do if he wants to play any higher than this level.

I stand by my observations regarding his all round game not being strong enough and would confidently state he won’t be playing above any level Notts are at in the next 5 years, probably ever.

The annoying thing ultimately is that we have paid the wages of this guy for many years and he was probably our best youth prospect in a while as well other than the ones we sold off to Liverpool / Spurs etc who would never have stayed. The net result is a handful of National League appearances and a couple of goals. He now sees that he can get more game time elsewhere. I suppose you can take the positive in that but if Roberts and Enzio both leave within the next 12 months which I would expect then we will have our work cut out replacing them.

Where did I say he should start over Enzio or Roberts ???

Call me old fashioned but if you come in and perform well would you not expect to keep your place.

As I said they are never fit that is why nothing to do with ability...lets just hope he can bring a LB in who trys to stop a cross coming into the box !

Maybe you will be right but he's leaving because he wants first team football.
