He's not better than Enzio or Roberts so would be a squad player. He's done nothing to warrant a first team place. Good luck to him wherever he ends up but he shouldn't be a starter here and he wants first team football. Which we won't give him and rightly so.

Call me old fashioned but if you come in and perform well would you not expect to keep your place.

As I said they are never fit that is why nothing to do with ability...lets just hope he can bring a LB in who trys to stop a cross coming into the box !
I didn’t say you said that, I asked the question?
You suggested his face didn’t fit, I suggested(by asking the question) it was about current ability. Additionally, if Osbourne shouldn’t be picked ahead of Roberts or Enzio, what could Ardley/Notts have done?

Since Roberts was signed, I can’t recall Osbourne coming in, performing well and thinking he should keep his place. Prior to the Roberts signing, there was Booty, who majority were happy to see play.

O’Brien came in for the semi, performed well. Kept his place for the final didn’t perform so well. Ardley gets slated.

McCory, without checking, played majority of the games last season? You then suggest it’s not about ability and in the next sentence hope that we sign someone that stops crosses?

Turner, yes significant time out injured. But, no need to bin. That’s why we have a squad.

Agree with all of that. Good luck to the lad, hope he finds a club to give him game time. In the meantime we know Ardley is looking to strengthen the squad, I'm sure LB and CB will be recruited.

As I've said a few times, he wasn't included in the pre season training video so the writing was on the wall. What interests me is the other players who appeared to be absent:

    Turner
    Thomas
    O'Brien
    McCrory

I'm not convinced we've seen the last departure.
Actually I'd heard similar about Thomas. Didn't wanna post it tho, too depressing. Let's hope it's wrong.

Meanwhile back at the random rumour mill.

Liverpool youngster Leighton Clarkson is a target for Notts County to join on loan.

Don't listen to @RumourNotts on twitter. They claimed we were after Rudy Gestede... He was in something like £35k a week at Middlesbrough...

You're correct about him being a squad player - or who do you drop to make way for him? Certainly not Enzio or Roberts, so it would have to be another midfielder, but who? We now have Rodrigues and Sloth who you would expect to to be immediate first team players and perhaps Osborne could have competed with them, and Doyle, and O'Brien, and Reeves. Unlikely though - eh?

A case might have been made to have given Osborne a lengthy run in the first team, but when we are looking to make an immediate impact on this league, that wasn't going to happen. What is more likely to happen now is more experienced signings by Ardley in this, his sh1t or bust season.

Osbourne played games did well and was axed the next game it doesnt matter who is here that is poor man management imo.

The LB comment was a dig at Bagen who was absolutely awful at Wembley he didnt stop ONE cross plus Harrogate kept dinking it over our defence on the left side Bageb/Turner/Ardley SHOULD have spotted this basic tactic.

None of it matters now as whats done is done but it might be something we regret.

Osbourne is a nice kid and has shown real maturity and guts deciding to move on for regular first team football.

Having said that there was no way he was ever going to be anything but a squad player at Notts. He just doesn't come close to Roberts or Enzio. Now we have signed Rodriguez and Sloth, he would have been even further down the pecking order.

I think a fair few of our fans haven't bought into the 'Moneyball' concept of Football Radar. They still believe the academy is the way forward. Not a chance when we are competing with Forest, Derby and Leicester on our door step. IMO there is no point wasting the little money we have on develpoing youngsters, only for the few that are good enough, to be snapped up by the vultures. Let's use the in-house recruitment skills we have, to find saleable talent elsewhere...

I can’t recall Osbourne playing well enough to retain his place since Roberts was signed. You may have a point earlier in the season, but I think was a toss up between Booty and Osbourne. At the time I don’t think you could argue either way.

LB comment understand. I would be critical more so of Turner, he should have been talking to Bagan. I would also be critical of Ardley at this point, I would have taken Turned off at half time.

I think many of us wish we had turned off at half time.
