4 forwards and non of them can run
Yes! Austin can score although not good enough and past it! Kanu does not know where the net is but granted he does try but trying is not good enough and he was shocking since the Blues match!
You need quality in the Premier League and a striker needs to be ruthless in front of goal! If someone says Kanu has quality and ruthless in front of goal - well they are on coke!
All three strikers are NOT good enough along with the worst keeper seen at West Brom for a long time. Even Frank Carson was a better keeper!
I'll give you 3 good reasons why we shouldn't sign him
1. His Premier scoring record is poor. In 5 seasons he's scored 33 in open play and numbers are reducing each season. Last season he scored 5
2. He is too old.
3. He's wages are too high.
Can you or anyone give me ONE reason why we should?
Honestly don’t see Deeney as an improvement on HRK, both can hold the ball up well but we need goals and Deeney won’t do that. If he is our #9 for this season then we are as good as down already..
1)he has a nasty streak and bullies defenders and unlike Austin and Lambert is a first choice striker and has played games.
2) he is a better all round striker than we currently have
3) he would seriously piss the Villa fans off.
I wouldn't pay a lot of money for him but if we could get him on loan I see nothing wrong with a deal.
Only West Brom could look at another cheapskate deal like this. Deeney is past it and not much better than Austin in my view. Why are we going backwards!!!!!!! Remember Gayle who was ruthless and still did a job for Newcastle last year!
Leeds and Fulham spending and we have lost 6 players despite almost fumbling promotion! What a complete shambles!
Seems very coincidental to me that Jenkins went on his bike!
Lone voice...given our budgetary restraints, I’d have a punt. So it’s a yes from me.
Off to get my tin hat.
1 He was a 1st pick (not always) for a relegated team
2. I challenge you name one that isn't.
3. Not as much as we would p1ss off Albion fans by not scoring enough.
And that is the $64,000 question. Why do think a 32 year old striker who has averaged 6 goals in open play a season in the last 3 would suddenly get the double figure tally so so obviously and desperately need?
