Oh BT, these Permanent Secretaries only stay in one job for 4 years because of the change that the Civil Service themselves asked for in 2004. The OfQal lady, Sally Collier, had been in her post for almost 4 years and she decided to resign and will get a £1 million pension.
Her other oppo, Jonathan Slater was also due to retire in the spring of 2021 and had been in post for almost 4 years so he has taken his retirement some 6 months early and, after over 35 years service will be due a fair screw as a pension.

Did you know that Permanent Secretaries can be sacked from a particular job, however, because of their seniority, they can continue in other good posts on a very large salary? Therefore, as you can see, being a scapegoat at this level can have its compensation unlike Jeff Hendrick, the scapegoat of many Burnley fans, who received no compensation so he moved on.
