    National League Betting

Bet Victor has Notts as favourites in to 7/2 now. Let's hope it isn't the kiss of death again

We should be there or thereabouts, but as I said in another thread, there are too many variables in a league season to predict any team as being a title certainty, and it can be counter-productive to do so, because the more hot-headed fans then go nuts over the slightest bump in the road.

I'd say we should certainly match if not better last season's top three finish, and our precise position in that top three will come down to a mixture of talent and luck, depending on injuries, schedule, how quickly our foreign signings settle etc.

We should aim high, but not to a point where it becomes a millstone around our necks. If we were to have a slow start it wouldn't be the end of the world, because the true quality of teams and depth of squad tends to reveal itself in the second half of seasons.

Stockport are now favourites with all bookies and as low as 3/1 with William Hill. We are 5/1 with them, if I see 6/1 I'll be tempted.

I am not a betting man but 7/2 to win the league in this division for any team before the season has started and signings have finished is beyond garbage. I guess there is a lot of money on Notts already.

    50/1 for a bottom 4 finish anyone?

TBH Stockport look to have done some decent business during closed season with a number of players with very good lower league and NL experience including John Rooney, Alex Reid, Jordan Williams and ex Cardiff player Southam-Hales. It is no surprise then that they are currently the bookies favourites. Notts look like they have made a few good signings on paper with the help of Football Radar but with a couple of them untested in the English lower leagues it will be interesting to see which policy wins out.
