Whilst it may be the hardest tie it will be an absolute walk in the park compared with who we will get in tomorrow’s third round draw so let’s not be overly concerned with a mid table Norwegian team. Even away from home is not a big deal given it is a one hour flight and an empty stadium. Let’s leave the worrying until tomorrow’s draw!!
Absolutely this!
I think this is what we might be up against in QR3. Seeded teams in bold.
Lokomotiv Plovdiv (BUL) or Tottenham (ENG)
Osijek (CRO) or Basel (SUI)
Besiktas
Sporting CP Lisbon
IFK Göteborg (SWE) or Copenhagen (DEN)
PSV Eindhoven
Kukës (ALB ) or Wolfsburg (GER)
Viktoria Plzen
Kaysar Kyzylorda (KAZ) or APOEL (CYP)
CSKA-Sofia (BUL) or BATE Borisov (BLR)
Neftçi (AZE) or Galatasaray (TUR)
Budapest Honvéd (HUN) or Malmö (SWE)
Sfintul Gheorghe Suruceni (MDA) or Partizan (SRB )
Bala Town (WAL) or Standard Liège (BEL)
Bačka Topola (SRB ) or FCSB (ROU)
Teuta (ALB ) or Granada (ESP)
Shamrock Rovers (IRL) or AC Milan (ITA)
AEK Athens
LASK
Laç (ALB ) or Hapoel Beer-Sheva (ISR)
Ventspils (LVA) or Rosenborg (NOR)
OFI Crete (GRE) or Apollon Limassol (CYP)
FK Rostov
Servette (SUI) or Reims (FRA)
NK Rijeka
So I think we need to be drawn against a seeded team that have been beaten by their unseeded opponents.
Also is it just me or did all the seeds in QR1 get drawn at home and all the QR2 seeds are now away? If so, and they are alternating it then it would follow that we will be away for QR3 too as unseeded?
Viking will be an artificial turf game
You can take Ventspils or Rosenborg off the potential list of QR3 opponents because of the country protection they cant have 2 teams from the same country being paired against each other so just in case Viking were to beat us they cant face Rosenborg.
Typical we get the toughest draw we could, away from home on an artificial pitch.
That said, if this was basically a pre season game like these have been most years recently then I’d be more worried. We’re up and running now & should be able to take care of this.
Play like we did yesterday we should be fine. No excuses.
We absolutely need a home tie in QR3 though - should we get through - given who we will likely face.
I think the chances of us beating any of that lot away are slim at best tbh.
I’ll just about guarantee we get an away draw though. It’s fit we dee...
