Dare I say that tricky makes a valid point about the ancient eqyptians and for that matter what about the Romans, do we start pulling down the colliseum in Rome, where Christians were fed to the lions, for entertainment?

I think it's time to have balance and accept that previous practices, although condemned today, were widely accepted at the time. Is there any record of criticism of Colston actions during his life time?

Hey i watched channel 4 news tonight and the presenter was a young arabic woman wearing a headscarf, try as I might to get upset at a BAME person being "dough-nutted" into the media, all I could think of was what a good calm unbiased presenter she was and focus on what she was saying!

Was that wrong of me? Am I betraying my country by not giving a **** about who does what as long as they can do the job well?

I've also been searching the BBC for those light entertainment shows crammed full of left wing comedians, to be honest I couldn't find that many and they certainly weren't crammed full of what i would term left wing comedians, on the whole they were reasonably balanced as to who was the butt of their jokes, included quite a few aimed at left wing figures and other subjects that I wouldn't consider right or left wing.

I admit I didn't find many "right wing" comedians but then I've not really seen many right wing comedians that didn't "punch down" with their jokes! I mean where is Jim Davidson when you need him?

The fact that you seem to have categorised me as extreme left wing is interesting, its akin to Trump calling the Democrats socialists! Must be all that right wing crap you absorb everyday addling your brain!

I thought Cathy Newman did the news last night but if you mean Fatima Manji yes she's great - but I now have the suspicion you are deliberately not getting the point that I'm making, and is being made widely even in the media itself, of significant over-representation of some minority groups (and shamefully under-representing others, such as disabled people and the elderly) thus giving a false picture of the demographic of the country. It DOES matter, and it should matter to you more than most on here because IMO that false view is what helped convince those 'thickos' you talk about, who probably never see a black face in real life from one day to the next, to 'Take back control' and vote Brexit. Its an observation on my part not a 'leaning' but its a clear one

Edit, not sure where I've categorised you as extreme left wing, I don't think left and right are productive especially when folk like you aotomatically attache 'far' to them. People's opinions/leanings are far more nuanced than that
