Strange how no one else came in for him. For me lt is a hell of a lot of money for someone unproven at the top level. Yes, he scored a lot of goals during Brentford’s surge to the Wembley play off final, but for me it’s a big gamble. If we had paid that much money for him, I wouldn’t have been too happy. I think he’s a decent player, and it’s not his fault that’s what Villa paid for him, but it’s a lot to live up to. But £28m ? I don’t think so.

Posted other day Sinkov they have three people on recruitment, and the philosophy is they study non high profile teams that are excelling at different points in their season - leagues.

They then watch the teams that are if you like over achieving and go and cherry pick their players for lower amounts , bring them develop them and sell on for large amounts.

Pretty neat tbh - if only we had someone who could do that ?🤔
