In which case BT, there is a fool-proof way the club can economise, if Mr Garlick is responsible for our success as you claim, then remove Dyche and his coaches from their positions, which would save us somewhere north of £5 million a year, and let Mike take over. Then we'll see if he really does know how to run a football club.

But why do I think this won't happen ?

" It's dog eat dog out there and this Corona virus and our government's response to it are not exactly helping football finances either."

Is that so BT, seems not actually,

"Transfer fees dropping by a third as Covid-19 prompts financial hit among European football "

So that's your lame excuse for Garlick refusing to strengthen the team blown out of the water. We have no debt, we are profitable, we have money in the bank, lots of it, we have one of the best managers in the game and the bottom has fallen out of the transfer market, it's awash with bargains. So what is the real reason for Garlick decimating the first team squad, it beats me, and Sean as well it seems.

Phucking hell sinkov you have already answered your own question. Please try and keep up with yourself mate...

Exactly as I predicted on the Transfer thread six weeks ago.

"I think we're in for a very tranquil summer, not many in, not many out, nowt of significance at all. We'll be starting next season with very much the same crew we finished this one."

I've got this lot weighed up and no mistake.

I don't see how I'm answering my question BT, I knew exactly what was going to happen, or more precisely what wasn't going to happen, but I have no idea why.

Like you sinkov, I don't think Dyche realised we would be missing half the first team through injury.

If Dyche really wanted to make the point I am sure he would rather leave the bench empty than compromise himself by picking players he deems to be not good enough to wear the shirt.

Bury gone. Macclesfield gone. Even this dodgy old memory remembers us getting stuffed by both of them. I'll stick with Garlick, thank you very much.
That’s a ridiculous quote BT he wouldn’t be fulfilling his job remit would he if he left no players on the bench to bring on if injuries occurred

Not sure about that army88. If he's wounded enough, he might do it to make a point, but it would probably contravene EPL rules anyway.

One thing is for sure, Garlick will now realise we need to improve and add to the squad, otherwise it's going to be one heck of a season.

Prepare for one heck of a season then BT, Garlick knew full well before last night that we needed to improve and add to the squad, it's been obvious to everyone, including Stan's blind man on his galloping horse, and Sean has been incessantly reminding him at every Press Conference. But he's done nothing about it so far, I really can't see why last night would make any difference.

    But we live in hope.

The thing for me above everything else is every other team seems to manage to get something in place all be it from lower leagues - Europe etc

Imo anyway for What it’s worth , the board are strangling Dyche , they - like me you and everyone else can see the situation unfolding in front of them
I find it really annoying that a manager who has over achieved and brought the good times to Turf Moor is ignored, I’ve read on here the for and against and yes we have players who haven’t cut the mustard in the past but that’s football , if every player Dyche got was a success he wouldn’t be at Burnley.

As for p-ssing money away why let hendrick
Leave £11million on a free and not renew a lucrative contract ( we’d have saved 10million there )

We are once again starting to look like a joke - way I see it you can’t have it both ways , prudent and a model club that s run correctly in the most competitive league in the world.

We have done amazingly well to survive as long as we have , but the longer you stand still and the others move forward D day will arrive at some point.

I do not have a clue who persuaded Garlick to buy or hire the likes of Hart, Gibson, Wells and Drinkwater, but if I was walking in Mike's shoes I would be making due diligence on any proposed new signings before I opened the Dry Powder Store, that is for sure.

Maybe that is what Hart and Rigg are up to right now? God only knows, but they must be doing something.
