A proper Lb is a must also and if Ayling goes down well be screwed on the right also. An experienced keeper wouldn't go a stray either.
It’s silly season and it’s for a variety of reasons - click bait, players’ agents or clubs trying to generate interest and up a players value - look at Gvardiol - sure our interest meant RB pay much more than they otherwise would.

Unless the club confirm via trusted sources interest then a lot is rubbish. The square ball for a laugh linked us to Danny Welbeck last season and said what they were doing - even then it became a ‘strong link’ with Danny Welbeck in the tabloids - which shows how bonkers a lot of the media coverage is.

Quantity seems to trump quality ....

Looks like you will get your wish as we are in advanced talks to land Diego Llorente from Real Sociedad. Orta has moved quietly but apparently Skysports are confident he is coming to Leeds. A centreback. Why do you and Oz and Orta think we need another centreback? We already have 3. I am not sure about this one because someone is going to be unhappy about being left out.

Bielsa’s preferred formation is 3 central defenders, so we need 1 spare on bench.

Strength in depth at the back is a must at this level and it keeps the others on their toes knowing they have to perform or risk being replaced.

Also we have got cover for any injuries that may occur.

    What's not to like?

Are you counting Strujk as a CB? I think he was just a solution to a problem like Kalvin was at times last year - not proper CBs. And if we had one of those three injured we'd have to use Ayling as back up in the event of another injury, which would leave us without a RB.

We are still think at the back - RB, LB and CB all need options, which at present we don't have if any of the starters are injured.

I also think Koch is going to need work to get him up to speed - tho so would the Real Soc guy too i guess.

Desperation stakes (as is the usual Leeds MO), with no likelihood that (even if) he comes to Leeds he will be able to fit into the Leeds way (we have evidence of that with Rodrigo and Koch), and we will have the same squad as available for the Liverpool game until late October/early November, 7/8 games in.

We knew in May we were likely to be promoted and had that confirmed (relatively), shortly afterwards, and here we are in late September and casting around here, there and everywhere, when targets must have been apparent months ago. Never likely to get all the targets, but we sure as hell shouldnt be digging up more weeks after seasons start.

The biggest concern for me with bringing in defenders from Europe, is them adjusting to the physicality of the league and how the refs in the premiership apply the rules.

What rules? Refs make up rules as they go. Now we have video refs that go by what the ground ref gave so what is the point of them when they can see clear as day what happened.

The PL is almost a European league anyway.
They would have more bother adjusting in the championship.
