I feel he should have went following relegation. I assume if he has any sense he will be asking to get a striker in this week. If the Danes don't back him it will indicate that his days are numbered.

I think 10 games is reasonable to judge whether he’s going in the right direction to take us up - which has got to be the only priority this season (and Ardley himself had admitted we have to be in the title race).
Three of our next four games are at home, plus Sutton away. Anything less than 10 points from those four games isn’t promotion form (given that we’re playing Alty, Barnet and Maidenhead at home). And I’d expect us to be on around 20 points after 10 games., which I’m guessing would put us in the top seven.
The other important thing, of course, is how we’re performing. I think we’re currently missing a decent striker and aggressive, pacy midfielder if we’re serious about promotion, and may need to bring a few loanees before things start improving.
Yes they have had a rough start, but at least bilic got them promoted , whereas Ardley relegated us
I agree with you. Whilst losing on the opening day does not define a season if we want to go one better this season and avoid the playoffs and get automatically promoted as champions then based on the past five seasons we can’t really afford to lose on average more than 7-8 games this season.
19/20 Barrow - 9 defeats (over 37 games)
18/19 Leyton Orient - 7 defeats
17/18 Macclesfield - 8 defeats
16/17 Lincoln City - 7 defeats
15/16 Cheltenham - 5 defeats
14/15 Barnet - 10 defeats
It really is that tough. I know yesterday was only one game and one defeat but over a season title winners on average can only afford to lose 1 in 6 games.
So ideally after an opening day defeat we need to remain unbeaten in the next five games against Altrincham, Barnet, Sutton Utd, Maidstone and Halifax.
The pressure is constantly on if you want to get automatically promoted out of this league
Barrow lost six of their first nine games last season before becoming unstoppable, so there's still time...
