The first half hour on Saturday was a bit 'coatish'. Let's hope we can extend the 30 minute performances to 90+. Then we'll know that Ardley is truly 'from the streets'. We could even have a whip round to buy him a coat.

They are just different variations of knee jerk. Neither is all that sensible.

I’m not sure that’s strictly true. I think most fans want him to succeed. I certainly do.

That’s not what is said. Suggest you re-read chap if you’re going to comment.

Agreed different variations but to different extents. That was my point and a world away from being sensible as you say.

I wasn't saying most fans didn't want him to succeed that would be the perfect football example of cutting off your nose to spite you face. I'd hope we all want any Notts manager to succeed. I was saying on NCM he's clearly more the anti Christ than Messiah. The numbers alone tell us that for the reasons previously discussed.

Let's see where we are after the infamous 10 games. That will tell us all how "our good/poor our start was" and a good barometer for the season ahead IMO.

As far as I can see, the first 'Ardley out' thread appeared after the York friendly and had very few posts. Then somebody went on there to mount a passionate, to the point of almost being implausible, defence of Ardley.

That made a lot of middle of the road posters, who aren't campaigning for Ardley to be sacked but who recognise BS when they see it, start posting on the thread too. That made Ardley and his suitability for the job the main topic for discussion prior to the first game of the season, the end result being a 300 post Ardley out thread when we lost to Dover.

A similar thing happened after home victories against teams we would expect to beat, and we are asked to take that as proof that Ardley is one of our best managers of recent times.

So now after 6 points from 6 and seven goals scored in two games, Ardley's future is still up for discussion on here. If the aim is to decrease pressure on Ardley I'm starting to wonder if it might be better just to let people vent after a bad performance and then let the matter drop!

I think there was at least 2 maybe 3 Ardley Out threads, an Ardley In....? Thread which was in essence an Ardley thread all running at the same time recently. Oh and the Elisha Sam Out thread, a personal favourite of mine. V harsh on a new signing but made me smile.

Who are the people that said Ardley was on of our best managers of recent times? I've missed this. The Pro Ardley posters tend to rightly point out surrounding detrimental matters throughout his tenure more than claim he's better than recent managers.

When DavyFacts said he's worse than Fullarton based on 12 games in L2 then someone had to say something. He's since been called the worst Notts manager not in recent times but in our history. That's when you know someone is just being silly.

For me Ardley has been a little fortunate with the owners, and has no excuses this season. His future should and will be up for discussion throughout the season I have no doubt.

Just would have been nice to make it to 5/6 league games before the expected reactions on here.

We didn't even get to the first game of the season without more than one Ardley Out threads appearing.

And then a laughable 2 mins after Dover scored we got another one started. Cos that's what was needed.

Thankfully they were all merged together by Swale

No I think the first one appeared after the York game and was being ignored by most people, then the situation evolved as described in my previous post.

    One after the York defeat
    One after the Harrogate defeat
One immediately after the Dover defeat.

I spot a trend, no need for Lt Columbo

I think you're right about the timing of the anti-Ardley posts dp. But laddo, it might have been nice to wait 5/6 games before we posters react but it becomes an ongoing fred from the kick-off in the first game of the season, there is no need to wait for results to pile up before diving in with your opinion. There isn't a fan's forum in the land that doesn't have knee-jerk posters who cannot wait for even the half-time whistle in a game before they contribute to a call for the manager's head.

LL you are probably right, we should all be glad we got to the 89th minute before it came.

It just illustrates that nobody should take anything too seriously on our beloved NCM. We are ahead of the game here we didn't even wait for the season's opener. The friendly performance against York City was enough for many.

    Viva NCM

Posted by your doppelgänger chap. (that’s a joke)

And called out by a few posters. Most eloquently by BFP I thought. None like me want Ardley sacked now as far as I know, but will call out BS like this.
