Oh BT: I would love to hear your ideas on the Big bang theory, go on give us something to think about this weekend .....and I did not see your ideas of 'real knowledge'. But perhaps the child bride needs you the most ?

For simplicity's sake Balan, I will agree with your lot and believe God created us all just to ultimately wipe us all out with the deadly plague that is COVID-19.

Does it matter I have no influence over policy. Governments have Chief Professional advisers appointed by civil service not politicians (unlike USA ) and they have advisory committees of the great and good. SAGE is one in public health but there are others also in medicine.

They are independent of Government and stay in post whoever is in Government. So Sir Rodney would be getting the same advice.
The issue is are any other medical committees disagreeing. It’s not obvious they are. A few individuals offer alternatives but as ICU beds fill up and staff can’t cope deaths will escalate and panic will set in the aim will be to stop it and lockdown again.

My father-in-law is suffering serious ill-health issues at present and he is in and out of Royal Bolton Hospital rather more than he would like at present. On every homecoming he says the same, "it's as quiet as a mouse" and this has been going on since early April.

Remarkably, and despite the dire warnings of a "pandemic" in Bolton, he breezes every coronavirus test and is now slowly on the mend.

No evidence whatsoever here Bolton, which is an alleged "COVID hotspot" that our ICU is bursting at the seams ~ quite the opposite in fact.

Oh dear BT : ....and our lot? No ,no I do not follow no dogmatic religion.

Each religion proclaims themselves superior and that the followers of their religion are the chosen ones, while others are not even human but creatures of hell - doomed forever.
For example, Muslims term Jews as pigs, and vice versa. The Christians think all non-Christians are heretics and vile - fit for hell fire. Every religion is antagonistic towards the other religions. They each preach unity within their own religion - and hatred without. In day to day living, blind adherents of a particular religion harbour enmity towards the followers of other religions.

Most surprisingly, those who are not dedicated followers of any of the religions think the various religions can be united and live in harmony. Those people do not follow a particular religion, do not study the scripture or any creed, nor do they listen to the words of those preachers. Yet somehow, they think those religions can bring peace and social justice. They live in the dark thinking that religious unity can bring welfare to society. This is just their ignorance.

Remember, as long as the various religions exist and their provincial teachings are preached - there will be blind believers of those poisonous ideas who spread hatred and venom between the various religions. Religion itself is the problem - not a rallying point for unity in times of crisis.

"Almost every religion has claimed that only its followers are God's chosen people and that the rest of humanity is cursed and bound by the chains of Satan. One religion has declared, “Our prophet is the only saviour. There is no escape from mundane sufferings except by taking refuge in him.” Another religion has declared, “I am the last prophet. Prayers must be said before God a specific number of times in a certain manner each day. Special animals must be sacrificed on particular days. These are the wishes of merciful God. Those who follow these injunctions will attain heaven on the Day of Judgement.” Yet another religion says, “Know ye, my son, thy God is the only God. All other gods are false gods.” Just imagine, all these religions preach universal fraternity, and yet this universal fraternity is kept within the confines of their own community. Humanity gasps for breath at such preposterous claims of universal fraternity."
"Carried away by the grandiose slogans of their respective religions, the followers of these religions have at different times whipped up a frenzy of communal hatred and indulged in orgies of genocide."

Just the downfall of capitalism is happening now. That's all. Even before your eyes you can see this!

If 2020 is telling us anything, it’s telling us to enjoy the moments we have, and don’t take any day or anyone or anything for granted ---que sera sera.

I never thought the comment I wouldn’t touch them with a 6 foot barge pole would become national policy but there you have it.

At the Supermarket there was a big X beside the check out for me to stand on, I’ve seen too many Road Runner cartoons to fall for that one,

Indeed there are OC, there are numerous highly qualified individuals, medical and scientific bodies disagreeing about the current Lockdown policy. The reason it's not obvious there are, is because the government and most of the media do not give any space to dissenting voices, for instance I've just had a look at the BBC website, there are over 30 Covid stories to choose from, not one of them questions in any shape or form government policy. It's taken as a given that the government way is the only way, so of course people like your good self and 59/60, who trust the BBC and get their news and info from it, don't know any different.

You appear to be woefully misinformed about Christianity today. I do not feel superior to any other religion or indeed atheists. I follow the teachings of Jesus not because I was forced to but because I chose to. The problem with Islam is that devotees believe their prophet was perfect and the Koran is perfect hence all other teachings are irrelevant. As I used to be an atheist it comes down to a choice about the values you intend to uphold in your life. The critics of capitalism and the role religion played in its onward march have been around for a long time. I would love to kill time but not anything else.
