If there is one thing that has shown up over the general political schitshow that has been the last five years, is that voting in ‘populist’, single issue idiots will end in total disaster. Trump ran on a ticket a of being a ‘businessman’ who would act like a ‘CEO’ and run the States like a ‘Corporate’ with prioritisation of the economy. Boris obviously won last year on the back of ‘Getting Brexit Done’. When Covid came along and needed thinking ‘out of the box’ they’ve been shown up for not having the slightest phucking idea what to do.

So,if there is one thing that is now clarified without there being any doubts, is that being in charge of a country involves a helluva lot more than just single issues. It’s a lot more nuanced, with lots of conflicting issues, factors and opinions that need to be carefully assessed and balanced and intelligent decisions made, sometimes without fear nor favour of how it may affect your opinion polls.

What Covid has demosntrated is that putting in idiots such as these who simply amplify what ‘Fred and Cleatus down the pub says’ is generally not very clever. Most issues will involve a lot more than we as the general public are aware of and individuals who actually know what the phuck they’re doing (regardless of political affiliation) is what we should be returning to.
