Likewise, when you can use the US Justice Department as your personal toy to bat away potential indictments from the Manhattan DA and New York attorney general it's easy to see why he'd want to cling onto power. Likewise running to the Supreme Court when things don't go his way is another tactic. This has never been about what he can do for his country and all about what his country can do for him.
Exactly this. We have entered dangerous territory.

There is no doubt Trump is trying to negotiate some sort of immunity before he leaves office.

He only cares for himself, if the whole of the US needs to go down to save his own skin he will see that as a price worth paying.

Will he do the honourable thing this weekend?

I think he may 'concede' but with a caveat that it is still not over.

I am pretty sure that collateral damage really does not bother him.

With NY statute of limitations being set at 5 years its clear another term in office would potentially wipe the slate for him.

I can see him trying to sneak some kind of back door deal to leave if the 2 cases 'go away'.

I also wouldn't be surprised if he called out the national guard to the counting stations, or on a lesser level some kind of militia protests similar to the Brooks Brothers riots in Florid 2000.

If he on this board I'm sure he'd read this as 'horrible thing'

Hillary Clinton and her supporters ended up blaming the Russians after she lost and occasionally it would make the news with the latest claim of 'proof'. I expect we'll be seeing a mere repeat of that, directed at American big tech/media rather than Russian bots, though not necessarily from Trump if he does manage to do a deal in return for his silence on the matter.

I'm more annoyed with the BBC right now for claiming that Southampton have topped the Premier League for the first time ever. When I read it, I thought - Do they mean since 1992 or have they never topped the top flight? Turns out they did top the 1st tier in the 1980s. Grrrrr.

BBC were saying that they had been top of Division 1 in the 1980's - they were talking about what music was around at that time.

They are right about the Premier League too! Not sure what there is to moan about!

Looks like Trump might be losing a few media mates over there. Nobody likes to back a loser:

Media mogul Rupert Murdoch's US outlets and the man himself have long been seen as keen Donald Trump supporters - but there may be a change of tone afoot. Murdoch's Fox News, the New York Post and the Wall Street Journal all seem to be preparing their audiences for his defeat, and distancing themselves from the president. Fox News angered Trump on election night by calling Arizona for Democrat Joe Biden. Since then, the network has largely stepped around the president's unsubstantiated allegations of voter fraud. "We just haven't seen it. It hasn't been presented to us," Fox News host Brett Baier said on air on Friday.

Murdoch was reported to have distanced himself from Trump 3 weeks ago.

The point is - distinguishing the PL from the top flight causes confusion, see here

Southampton top Premier League table for the first time in 134 years
"Southampton football club is currently topping the Premier League table for the first time since the club was established on 21 November 1885. This is the biggest achievement of the 134-year-old club after winning the English FA Cup during the 1975-1976 season."
