Apparently they're on the increase wi scammers targeting the shopping Christmas on-line market.
Avved the same wun twice in two days. A posh, middle class gentleman whose serious voice is meant to sarnd "authoritative" does the recorded pre-amble--
" I am phoning to tell you your account has been debited to the sum of £399 for an Amazon purchase and we are doing a random survey that these have been approved by yourself. Please have your bank details ready and then Press 1 so we can verify the purchase" Obviously this is designed to produce a sense of panic and poor judgement.
It's already cost me £798but do warn any relatives/ friends who may be vunerable/ gullible eg Leeds fans
that there are scammers abart and nivva give bank details away even if the caller sarnds lovely and helpful like Honest Dane.
