Apparently they're on the increase wi scammers targeting the shopping Christmas on-line market.

Avved the same wun twice in two days. A posh, middle class gentleman whose serious voice is meant to sarnd "authoritative" does the recorded pre-amble--
" I am phoning to tell you your account has been debited to the sum of £399 for an Amazon purchase and we are doing a random survey that these have been approved by yourself. Please have your bank details ready and then Press 1 so we can verify the purchase" Obviously this is designed to produce a sense of panic and poor judgement.

It's already cost me £798 but do warn any relatives/ friends who may be vunerable/ gullible eg Leeds fans that there are scammers abart and nivva give bank details away even if the caller sarnds lovely and helpful like Honest Dane.

And most likely a prison sentence , alternatively I can press button 1 and speak to an advisor for help,

I ed wunna them ages ago.Mine sed it wo Dept Work and Pensions saying a warrant fo my arrest had been sent for action by the Police due to me failing to respond to enquiries abart ovvapayment of Pension which had now totalled ovva £800 and I eddto Press 1 to sort it all art. Again designed to produce panic and poor judgement.
Put phone darn. Nowt came ovvit.
They must ev access to some database wi old fooaks date of birth innit. Many a poor old dear al fall forrit. Barstewards (the scammers, not the old dears )
