    Utter Scum!

A friend of mine and former poster on here had a terrible week last week.

His dad lives in the Lye,Stourbridge area and at 6.30pm one evening a gang of 4 blokes smashed through his back door.

He’s 85 years old and has very limited eyesight and they bundled him into a room and held him hostage whilst they totally ransacked his house!

I know the old lad through my mate and this really struck home.

He’s been very shaky and flakey since this terrible event.

Just how sick and depraved do you have to be to perpetuate such a vile crime.......these people are the lowest form of life.

Apparently this is one of a spieght of these robberies that have recently taken place in the Kingswinford and Stourbridge areas.

My mate says that police suspect it’s courtesy of a large contingent of Gypos holed up in Kingswinford😤😤

If you live in our area just be aware of this and make sure an extra eye is kept on elderly relatives.

I honestly believe that home invasion like this should carry a mandatory 20 year sentence with no time off for good behaviour.

Should he strung up, pity we can’t go back in time and stick them in the rear of a Lancaster Bomber on a bombing raid over Germany, wonder how brave they would feel then, utter lowlifes

That's a really depressing post to read. You would imagine the scum bags who did this got to know an elderly person lives there. I might be wide of the mark but i would imagine there's suspects closer to where the old chap lives in Lye aside from the Gypos in Kingswinford.

Seems the police in Lye are very slow to consider it might be some of the new intake of 'locals' there based on a close friends experience of getting his business robbed. He found the police to be utterly useless despite eye witness accounts describing some of the perpetrators. Its becoming a sad and dangerous place when not so long ago it was a racially diverse town of hard working people that was good for a night out. I think the Police and Dudley Council between them have a lot to answer for as to what its become.

I completely agree regarding very long sentences being given for violent crimes and there should never be any reduction for good behaviour, additional time should be given for bad behaviour. Also, where these scum are convicted of more than one offence, the sentences should be served consecutively, which seems to be a very rare thing, it’s usually concurrent time, so no deterrent to committing multiple offences. We are far, far too soft on criminals.

My views on crime and punishment are towards the very severe end of the spectrum. I make no apology for this as i believe we need to move the pendulum towards a far harsher response to such crimes and give a genuine deterrent as only then will those people be discouraged.

I agree 100% with you but unfortunately those that make the laws and call judgment of others are rarely the victims of crime such as this so nothing changes. Plus we've too many do gooders and highly paid lawyers in society who've a boat load of excuses as to why these people act this way and why they are the real victims so nothing changes.

A few years ago I was in Havana, Cuba. I went out one night to find a restaurant my guide had recommended which was up a dark street as there are no streetlights in Havana. I'd asked if it was safe. The guide assured me I'd be fine. He said our government 'hammer criminals in to the ground' who mug tourists and they get 7 years hard labour in a Cuban jail. I didn't meet one tourist in 2 weeks who'd been mugged or attacked.

Taxi driver in Singapore told me the story of someone who had received life imprisonment for murder. He went to appeal, lost and the sentence was duly amended to the death sentence.

On a different level a friend of mine who lives there told me of a yank arrived to take up a relatively senior job in his company. On his first night he had a few drinks and then a smoke in a prohibited area. Staff asked him to leave and he got quite abusive. Police were quickly on the scene (I am told they are everywhere) and he got verbally abusive with them. Result was a night in the cells, his visa was cancelled and he was sent back to the States in days .

Unfortunately, this is systematic of our society today. There is a lot to recommend us as a country but one of our failings is that we are not tough enough on the wrong doers. There has to be a deterrent and individuals have to take responsibility for their actions. This is why too many people ignore the present rules regarding Covid. Schools are also at fault. As a retired teacher I have seen at first hand how discipline has gone 'down hill' and how there is now too much 'understanding' instead of punishment.

Scum like this should be publicly flogged! My advice to anybody is to have a concealed weapon handy and if somebody breaks in then go for the kill. Very few break into an house in Texas as they would leave with a gun shot probably between their head. Old folk need to defend themselves like the next person! I always admired that farmer who blasted that scum bag and was a hero - he made one mistake and shot him in the back but really should have aimed for his balls or temple! Scum should know that entering somebody’s kingdom could come at a price and that price might be a big un!
