Observations.
Rory McIlroy is absolute b o l l o x!
Never learns........constantly tries to blast the s h I t out of the ball rather than plot his way around.
Misses putts from 2-3 feet and looks to the heavens because he doesn’t concentrate.
My son in law is a massive fan of his......I said to him five years ago that McIlroy wouldn’t win another major and he thought I was nuts but I stand by that.
Bernhard Langer.......63 years old and -2 and playing beautifully.
Shorter distance hitting but such craft around the course.
Surreal watching it at this time of the year, still a class event.

Nothing beats Formula 1 for pointless.
There is a God when you see a golf shot like this

I don’t play golf and I only watch the four Majors but I do think it’s a wonderful game.
I find it really relaxing for some reason and can work for hours with it over the top of my laptop.
I think it’s the reason I’ve started to enjoy sports like this and the NFL because I have no vested interest in it.
Watching Albion fills me with stress and I end up getting angry.
I’m too old to be so angry as I’ve been all my life......I’d rather watch a man with a stick hit a little ball into water!
I'm not a great golf fan but I do enjoy watching the Masters. It's just one of those special sporting occasions. As for Formula 1, now that is like watching paint dry!
To be fair I do agree that The Masters is one of the great sporting events. F1 most definitely isn’t any more. F1 has got a lot like the Premier League. It makes you realise sport only works with healthy competition.
I kind of agree about the Albion, I find it quite a stressful experience these days so I can identify with needing a sport in your life that helps relaxation and escapism. For me it’s fly fishing but I know it’s horses for courses and everyone to their own.
I've only started to play golf for the last two years since I returned to the UK. Even though I am very moderate, I thoroughly enjoy the game. It is a great game to get exercise and fresh air. An average round takes about 4 hours and I walk about 4-5 miles.
As for watching golf, I do watch the golf on Sky especially the Majors. The difference between watching golf against F1 is that, in golf there are numerous people who could win the competitions, whereas the F1 is usually a procession dominated by one team. Morbidly, I only watch F1 for the first few laps to see if there any crashes!
I’ve been a golfer for 40 years. Started when my cricketing days finished. “She who must be obeyed” also plays and now has a lower handicap than I ! Both sons played when in UK and achieved a decent standard. They now play as and when.
I managed to get to single figures, but in recent years preferred to get out on my bike, albeit I am still a member of the Golf Club. (30 + years)
There is quite a social aspect to membership, indeed our Golf Club major on being a ‘Club’ rather then a ‘course’. Supporting the bar / catering is expected.
The posh elitism has essentially gone and most clubs are keen for new members rather than the old waiting lists that existed back in the day.
Standards are maintained and provide a good basis for youngsters (and indeed adults)
I’ve played with the Baggies Former Players Assoc and much enjoyed playing with some of the guys I enjoyed watching as footballers. (Doug Fraser, Johnny Giles and Ray Wilson come to mind ! )
Not particularly an avid watcher, albeit the remote is currently with SWMBO!
