Preston North End Player Tested Positive for Covid 19

Preston North End player Alan Brown tested positive for covid 19 on Thursday, after playing 90 minutes against England, Preston has we know played at NYS on 7 November 2020, does this mean Rotherham players & Preston players have to go into quarantine or have a covid test ? .

I doubt that our players would have to because he never got close to any of our team 🤗

Thought all teams were still getting tested pre match? Did see the other week though where Evo was whinging no one from his team or Fleetwood's, were tested before they played. Maybe that's not the case now.

There's an assumption here (perhaps a wrong one) that football is subject to the same rules as the rest of us

I’m not sure if it’s mandatory but surely these should be tested

Our players don’t need to isolate but I’m sure they’ll get tested

If you or me were in contact with someone who had recently tested positive for Covid-19 we would by law have to isolate for 14 days from the day we were in contact with them. We would not be offered a test and even if we had one and it was negative, we would still have to isolate for 14 days due to the incubation period of Covid.

Maybe because any close contact was outdoors is the reason this doesn’t seem to apply to footballers.

I tested positive for Covid on 2nd November and there are still about a dozen people in isolation because of my positive test!
