When fiction becomes fact it's time to put the cat out and leave.

I keep asking the same question sinkov, "Why are there no bodies piling up in the street?"

Lunchtime yesterday me and the Child Bride decided to have a window shop in Bolton.

My first reaction, "I thought we were supposed to be in Lockdown?" The place was heaving.

That’ll be Boris fault then. What’s Burnham doing?

What we both found odd was the absence of Bizzies. Zero police presence, only a few masks, the only difference to a "normal" Sunday was the non food shops, pubs and restaurants were all shut.

Bizarre does not quite do it! I no longer see the point of this masquerade.

All reinforced by Boris going into isolation again! You reported that it was like a "normal" Sunday, hence the populus are not listening to what they are being told by those in power.
Probably the same in many places over the weekend and has been reported to Westminster.
Suddenly, last night, Boris is isolating because he has been in contact with someone with the virus in the safe environment of Downing Street. He is then reported in the various media channels as being "fit as a butcher's dog but sticking to the guidelines as people should do"

I trawl through the GOV.UK and NHS websites trying to find out what I can BT, and it's a struggle trying to find anything meaningful. Last night I came upon a gem, a circular graph showing the excess deaths this year, compared to the previous five years, but it was only for London, I couldn't find a similar national graph. What it showed though was a huge upward spike in excess deaths from March with it coming down sharply as summer approached. All summer this year's line was running alongside the last five years, it continued like that into September, October and it's still at the same level as the last five years right now.

What it shows quite clearly is that there are no excess deaths in London, there is no 2nd wave in London. Last years flu victims are now called Covid victims, that's all that's different, the numbers are the same. Which is why you can't find the bodies BT, there aren't any, or to be more accurate, no more than normal.

Hurray! Rejoice! Nothing to worry about.

No need for a vaccine - everything is normal.

Thanks for that Mon Ami, just let Boris know and then we can all get back to business as usual.

I think that we both deserve a gong for this

If you're one of life's bedwetters 59, there's always something to worry about, if you're worried that one day you might die, then you're right to be worried, one day you will. If you're worried that the NHS is collapsing under the strain of coping with the 2nd wave, then you've no need to worry, the NHS actually has more spare capacity than usual for this time of year, and all we're seeing so far is the normal autumn/winter rise in people being hospitalised with acute RIs, and the usual number of people sadly dying from them. Of course this may worry you, but there's no need to be more worried this autumn than any other autumn.

I disagree about the vaccine, we have a flu vaccine, which for the last 20 years has kept some measure of control over the virus, and has reduced significantly the number of people the flu virus kills in winter. A vaccine for Covid will obviously be beneficial, not sure why you think otherwise.
