If humans were ever to discover a propulsion method that would send a spacecraft somewhere at close to the speed of light, it would still take too long a time. Also, we’re it to be possible and to be able to make the return trip, time would have advanced on the Earth hundreds of years beyond the lives of the astronauts. This is why I don’t believe in flying saucers visiting the Earth with strange aliens aboard!
We’ll see Lai at The Hawthorns again before we see little green men visit Earth!

    I wish the little yellow f u c k e r would be sent into deep space!

I think most things can be possible given enough time.
My great gran lived with us, she was born in 1890 and died in 1978.
She told me that when she was a girl her uncle told her that the only thing that would fly are bird's and angel's.
The change's she saw in her life were many.
But space is so vast we won't see much headway made for generations.
So far nothing is faster than the speed of light, and if you travelled across our galaxy, the Milky Way at the speed of light, it would take 100,000 year's to get from one side to the other.

Apparently one of the biggest blunders they made in the first landing.......they never considered the astronaut who would remain alone in the orbiter awaiting the return of his comrades....He became the first truly isolated human being in history....
When the orbiter went around the dark side of the moon...it lost all contact with Earth and thus with humanity......and he apparently felt it!!!
None of the training considered his physiological state.......strange but true...

Interesting topic, if you could travel from earth faster than the speed of light and looked back through a telescope you would see the earth as it was in the past and be ultimately able to see all of human evolution....

Yes Dubs, but it would probably be a wormhole like Kettering says.
There is so much we don't understand about time and space.

I recall reading about the guy who first suggested using the new steel been produced in abundance in the 17th/18th century asking if it would be possible to make boats and ships out of steel. He was laughed out of the room for ages...until someone understood the law of flotation....the law was there all the time we just hadn't evolved to figure it out...
We are still a very young species......

Absolutely. Someone who came from Napoleonic times would still have recognised most things at the end of the nine****th century, but the world changed immensely in the next hundred years, and has changed again in the last twenty years.
