    Energy composite front door recommendation's

We had a composite door and sidelight about 5 years ago and after the ist winter I wanted it ripped out. It still looks good, but thermally it's rubbish. We had a low thresholdto make it easy for me to get in, wished we would a higher threshold.
We have use one of those door snakes to keep some of the draughts.
Need to get it right next time and last one wasn't cheap.
What experiences have you had, good and bad.

Fitted around 100 front doors for clients over the years and if they could afford an extra £300 or so always recommended composite doors. Never had a come back. PVC is cheapest but usually looks it. Timber doors you would need to buy the very best and they need treating. I believe composite are thermally the most efficient.

My own front door came www.solidor.co.uk

Expect to pay £600-£1000. Back in my day you didn't accept the 1st price don't know if that still applies.
