“There is utterly unfounded public hysteria driven by the media and politicians. This is the biggest hoax ever perpetrated on an unsuspected public. There is absolutely nothing that can be done to contain this virus. This is nothing more than a bad flu season. It’s politics playing medicine and that’s a very dangerous game.

“There is no action needed…Masks are utterly useless. There is no evidence whatsoever they are even effective. It is utterly ridiculous seeing these unfortunate, uneducated people walking around like lemmings obeying without any evidence....

On it's own it's a meaningless number OC, it goes up, it comes down, it goes up, it comes down, but it doesn't tell you anything without the number of tests carried out.

Let me explain, day 1---25,000 cases, day 2---20,000 cases. Good news eh ?

Well no, not really, in this instance cases are down but the situation is actually getting worse,

Day 1---25,000 cases---300,000 tests carried out, infection rate 8.3%
Day 2---20,000 cases---200,000 tests carried out, infection rate 10.0%

The number of cases on it's own, without knowing the number of tests, is a meaningless number.

Strangely I've not heard this good news mentioned by the BBC yet, they seem to have taken a time out on reporting the number of 'cases'. Can't imagine why, but there you go.
You seemed to want to use these figures credibly earlier Sinkov

Irony seems lost on you OC, you quoted a figure of 33,000 cases last week, quoting a massive % increase, I then quoted the next day's figure which had dropped to something like 27,000 and a subsequent massive % decrease, and then they went down again, it was to illustrate what a pointless excercise it was to quote meaningless figures which vary wildly from day to day, obviously because the number of tests varies from day to day. I didn't think I needed to spell it out.

I just enjoy getting on your nerves and wondering how many times you keep saying the same old stuff.

Seriously the death figures are getting out of control in the US now over 250k and 2k a day with no clear policy or understanding of who is in charge, things could get very messy there.

Lot of exaggerations there I’m afraid which spoil his arguments, some of which I concur.

There is absolutely nothing that can be done to contain this virus.
Well they have contained it in China, most Asian countries, Australia, New Zealand Denmark, Norway, Greece, and lots more countries.

This is nothing more than a bad flu season.
COVID is far more damaging than flu Does he mean Spanish flu then maybe.

    Masks are utterly useless.
Is that for the wearer or for those not exposed to large amounts of sneeze or cough material from wearers?

unfortunate, uneducated people walking around like lemmings obeying without any evidence

As far as I understand it OC, each state is responsible for it's own policy, there is no overarching national policy, I can't say I'm over-concerned about what happens elsewhere, the insanity here in England is enough for me to wonder at thanks.
