For a current example of how **** happens, just look at JD Sport / Debemnhams
But isn’t that exactly what folk are saying Andy? The JD Sport takeover of Debenhams didn’t happen because of the impact on Debenhams of the collapse of Arcadia. Might the same not be true of DCFC as we look less and less like a ‘sleeping giant’ of the Championship and more and more like just another League 1 club with a nice stadium?

I think they would be buying potential. Wads of cash, a bit of luck and two seasons and we could be juking it out with the big boys, and in a 44,000 stadium with excellent transport links. Never gonna happen with (sorry Acido) Barnsley or Preston

Nomost folk seem to be impatient for the "good times" to happen and worrying about how long its taking, without understanding the complexit yof the deal!

As others have pointed out, whats being acquired is a club with the infrastructure in place that has the potential for development - excellent training ground, modern stadium, a proven ability to attract 30K plus fans for each game. Whether we are in league 1 or the championship won't make much difference long term.
