Thread: Club shop

    Club shop

Our club's commercial people need to have a word with themselves about promoting Dundee United. Spent a decent sum of money in the club shop today and was handed my goods in a pale blue, see through 'Kerry Oot' style plastic bag!
Total embarrasment, people from all over (Covid restrictions not withstanding) spending hundreds of pounds on our vastly overpriced goods and walking about with a Chinese take away carrier bag.
Get your act together United, you are meant to be a big club, even that heap up the road would not sink to this level of penny pinching.
To add insult to injury and heap more embarassment on this shop, I asked for a gift voucher and was informed they were out of them but gave me a bit of orange paper with a United logo which said it was a gift voucher and was valid until June 2020! FFS ...is this where we are at a commercial level. It's bad enough watching that utter garbage on the pitch just now without this crap service for people paying hard earned money to support our club.

This is just a guess but possibly it's been difficult getting v1tal items like branded polybags due to Covid... Jees, talk about first world problems...

I've been waiting on windows and doors for the house since June. Wood for a few fencing jobs since August. The world is hold, including Dundee Utd carrier bags. 😂

If the shop had prices on their items it would help. When you browse around and fancy something invariably there is no price so you have to ask to be told the price.

I was told today that one of the medical staff had handled some of the tangerine carrier bags and they have been quarantined for 48 hours as a precaution.

With everything going on at the club just now, on and off the pitch, this is the source of your frustration you bother to create a new thread about?

I was in there on Friday. Staff seemed to be handing over to the next shift of staff. Moaning loudly that they didn’t know their upcoming shifts. Few prices on goods. No warmth when serving. Toarn face on the one serving me. I had 3 t shirts, kids pyjamas, Utd football. As per, I asked for a carrier bag. “Do you have a large carrier bag”? The answer “no and you do t need one”. The other assistant went looking and came up trumps. Albeit a grey plastic bag with no handles. Merry Xmas bah humbug staff! Yes there are big problems at present with performance, tactics, results, stupidity re social distancing but I think the OP has every right to raise this on a United forum. After all I don’t think that this is the way to engage with the very people that you are looking for financial support at this difficult time
