I think the Manager has created a team of triers who will run all day.
Personally I also think they have some quality which is not been used effectively.
I’m sick of reading the forums of every team we play and they all talk about us just been a long ball team with little quality.
That is what we are a long ball team it doesn’t matter who plays or what formation it’s simply get it and hoof it.

They weren’t that good yesterday but we made it easy for them. I think Warne needs to think about the plan moving forward.
Yes we have a small budget but I’m convinced we could play better.
I’m not calling for the Managers head however this team is his and how he likes to play and it’s just terrible to watch.

I think he’s fortunate the supporters aren’t allowed in or it could be toxic for him.

He and the team are capable of better it’s up to him to recognise that.
If not it’s going to be a long season and I’m not sure he will be here next if we go down with a whimper.

Think it’s time Warney and staff look at the videos and tell the players what went wrong why it went wrong and ******* whoever needs to be *******ed instead of asking them imo

Warney might be wise to also watch the games back with maybe someone outside the club for some feed back

Probably because the refs decision had no effect on the result as it was so late and already 0-3 down.
It now allows the EFL to point out that we are given pens if we complain in future

It so difficult to put a finger on the problem. Many games this season we have been in the game right till the end even against the top sides. We have played quite well. Yesterday we were very poor tho and looked to have taken a step backwards. Hopefully it is a one off. Were we taking the foot off the pedal a bit after 2 tough game at home thinking this would be much easier? Were we just knacked from our previous exertions or a combination of both? The only way we can compete in this league is by physical effort. Beyond that we dont have much to offer. We do have some skilled players but not enough if we are not firing on all cylinders.

Then there is the problem of changing formations regularly which does not help cohesion. Warne talks about getting information into players heads maybe it is too much for some and they really dont know what their role is in any particular game. Poor owd Wilesy dunt even know what position he is going to be in from game to game and is in danger of being jack of all trades and master of none.

I like 3 5 2 BUT we have to have the players to play that way and we dont have them at the moment. It would be better though that we stick
to one formation and go for it whatever it is so that least the players know their role.

We can only hope to pick up the odd point against the top teams but we need to do the job against the team around us. Maybe Warne needs to rest up key players against better teams and save em for lesser teams it is the mini league at the bottom is that we need to come top of.

If you were to put it in terms of a general election Cov
was one of the key seats we needed to win. We didnt get the turn out to do it.

Roly - why do you like the 352 system? Or anyone? How does it benefit us?

So if some players were jaded (like all other clubs) then why didn’t Warney freshen it up? Why did he go with that formation against Coventry?
    Did we do our homework?

    Again it’s down to Warney

It doesn’t matter about systems the outcome is the same.
We don’t lack quality we are devoid of ideas how to use it.
Richie Barker is not the correct support for Warne.
Get it long and play for percentages it is terrible to watch and it’s ineffective.
As Pocket says if this carry’s on the criticism from the supporters is going to get worse.

TS will not let the yo yo situation keep happening

I called it before the game on the match thread.

351 a defensive formation, effectively 541, designed to congest the space between the width of the penalty box to neutralises teams that play through the middle. You only have one player naturally out wide between the edge of the 18 yard line and touchline.

It only works as a defensive formation if you drop off deep and defend the 18 yard line.

Our strength all season has been to play a high pressing game when the opposition are playing out from the back. That suits a 442, 433 or 451 formation.* A high press and 352 contradict each other.

Playing 352 makes is really hard to defend against sides that play 442/433 and attack out wide (Cov seem to play 433). Its doubly hard when you also try to play a high press - impossible for the players. Players are out of position and there gaps all over pitch.

No wonder we were a shambles.

It only benefits us if we have the right players to play that system, or any formation for that matter.
    Too much emphasis on formation.
