Regardless of who is the manager I've never been comfortable with this idea of changing tactics to match the opposition. If you're playing a cup match against a team from a higher league maybe, but in your own league, especially with the depth of talent we have, we should be confident enough to say "this is the way we play, and you need to worry about us".
The players were clearly feeling comfortable with the 4-2-3-1, unsurprisingly given the personnel we have, and the results were coming. If we don't win tonight, you have to question why Ardley changed a winning formula.
