    O’Brien and Doyle

It’d be interesting if one of the stats lads on here could say what our record is when both O’Brien and Doyle start. I know we beat Mansfield early on, but since then it can’t be good.

I keep hearing all about how we’re big into the stats, well what stats tell us that it’s a good idea to have a 40 year old bloke every minute of every game? And O’Brien looks finished to me.

They both need replacing ASAP. Keep Doyle on the bench or around the club if you must...or just play the Wolfe man!!

O'Brien does look knackered and low on confidence, Doyle is well..... Doyle, ok average performance nothing special, no pace or tracking back. I can live with reeves as long as their is pace alongside him. Wooton not the player of last year and needs support with him.

Never play the 2 in the same team at once. Simple answer. The opposition must rub their hands when they see two oldies in the side. Any side with a wee bit of pace will love it. The "experience" label in the side is not working

Agreed with Pete , don't play both at once especially at home on our beautiful turf. It's beneficial to have one of them in the side but not both.

I think Doyle has enough quality to get in the team - IF we are playing a system that allows him to sit deep and dictate play, like the 4231 that was working so well before Ardley changed it. In a 442 or 433, he's useless.

O'Brien, on the other hand, looks past it. It's sad to say, as I thought he was one of the better players that Ardley brought in during the relegation season. I can't fault his attitude, but he just looks off the pace every time I see him play.

Playing both together is obviously bonkers.

None of this is hindsight either, I imagine pretty much everyone thought the same thing when they saw the team sheet.

Whatever you think of Ardley’s lack of managerial abilities, his insistence on Doyle playing every second of every match is plain weird.

According to Ardley, both Doyle and Reeves are the engine room of the team thats why they play every game... So much for his ramblings about fatigue and the need to rotate players..

If only some of the others showed the lions heart, passion, hunger and desire that Jimbo has to make something happen in a game we would be more feared and ruthless.

For this I can’t fault his efforts like you say.
