Sheffield Wednesday v Barnsley Match Thoughts

So down the A61 we go tomorrow where many have gone before only to trudge back up again pointless and bewildered .

One day I keep saying to myself it will be different , we will go there and win and win well , is this the year ? .

In all honesty I'd probably take a point but the devil in me also says ..... b@llax to that , wendy are there for the taking and let's go and make those feckers lives more miserable than they already are .

The Praise and Grumble after match phone in will be priceless on Radio Sheffield .

I've already built it up far more than I should in reality and setting missen up for another Pig Hoyle fall .

Traditionally we dont do well at the sty, but this looks like one of the better opportunities to get all 3 points.

They have some decent players so caution is advised, they could have an on day. I wonder if they will use the typical pig style of play and hoof it up front to Windass especially after seeing Wycombe have a bit of success against us midweek. My biggest concern after the Wycombe game is that we looked a bit tired and didnt seem to have our usual pressing style up to scratch. Its hard to press mind when the ball is in the stratosphere!

Whatever I hope for 3 points but anticipate a hard fought draw.

Tha reight Eths, it is hard to press a sh1thouse team who punt it long. I expect Piggies to be more of the same as Wycombe were.

They're desperate forra win. Pulis ent brock his duck yit which is ominous. Then ageeun, they'll be desperate not to lose either. It'll not be one for the purist am sure o that.

Wiv encountered some awkward teams so far this season and not done great, that's why I were chuffed wi beating Wycombe.

Ad be happy wi a point in all honesty

It's a fair point is that Pass .

Pullis doesn't give a shyte on how he gets results just as long as he gets em .

He'll have had a good look at us on Wednesday night and spotted one or two chinks in our defending .

Maybe a return of Helik to the back three would give us a bit more physicality ? .

A bit better from Walton when the ball is in the air would be no bad thing either .

I wouldn't be in a hurry to dispense with Halme either , ok he gave the pen away but other than that I thought he dealt with everything else thrown his way very well .

Sollbauer , Halme and Helik my back three choice tomorrow .

    I’m expecting this.
A sending off and maybe a bad injury - but let’s hope not.
As for the match - Barnsley to dominate but can’t score - in the last parts of the game the ball will be hoofed up field by a Wendy player it will hit one of their strikers on his a@se and shoot straight into the top corner of Barnsley’s net.
Pulis in his after match interview will say that Wendy fully deserved to win.

Ad stick wi our usual back 3 to be honest Animal. Nowt against Halme but I think the more our usual trio laik together the better understanding will develop. I'm all for rotation but the defensive trio can laik ivry game together fo me despite the demanding fixture schedule. With respect to the rest of our team, our defensive trio aren't running their ballax off pressing. They sit in theear and will have more legs to last the season art in my opinion.

Sollbauer stands out as the best defender we have and from the other 3 its difficult to decide who are the best, theyve all got mistakes in them. Halme is the least exposed as hes had less game time than the others but I agree he did OK in the last game with the exception of the penalty.

I think I would stick with the same three form the last win.

Got to drop Thomas and put Vic in. If we had another striker I would also rest Chaplin but we havent really got options so that would be my only change.

I dont know why it is, and it makes me sick to be honest why we have bad bogey teams/fixtures like this.
Look at Cardiff away recently at the time of a few good results for us. It was typical garbage again from us against an always annoying and stubborn team. And I fear the same again tomorrow to be honest.

TAP eh (take a point) ?, yes I would be ok with that.

I take your point about the back three not needing a rest Pass I'm looking for the squad to be used more effectively against specific opponents who offer different problems , generally problems we've struggled to solve .
