Anyone watched it?
I’m no royalist but I finally put the first episode on tonight and ended up on episode 4 before calling it a night.
What a beautifully shot and acted look back into the last 70 years most of us have inhabited.
Mesmerising performance by Claire Foy as the queen,I’d never heard of her before and Matt Smith as Prince Phillip and John Lithgow is absolutely stellar as Churchill.
Even if you’re not a royalist it’s worth a watch, the quality of the whole production is superb.

I keep seeing it advertised on Netflix, i might give it a whirl.
I've seen it up to about 1990. Have really enjoyed it except the portrayal of Margaret Thatcher. It was like a caricature and I couldn't take it seriously.
I've started watching and it's really good.
Cheers Mick for the heads up.👍
Although I haven't much time for the present Royals i love our history, our former King's and Queens and the Royal palaces and castle's.
I have been to Osborne House and seen the room and bed where Queen Victoria died.
I love reading about the power struggles and the backstabbing.
By comparison our present lot have always come over as dysfunctional and boring.
But this series is very good and show's them warts and all.
Although they have big house's and castle's, they are really prisoners in them and have no real life of their own.
They can't go for a walk down the street, have a pint in the local or even get to pick their own partner.
I couldn't do it.
Princess Diana complained about the intrusion by the press, but that's what she signed up for.
To live your life under a microscope, not for me thanks.
I have admiration for the Queen Des and more respect now for Philip.
It’s clear from this programme that he’s been trying to slim things down and change things since 1947!
I don’t think the monarchy would’ve survived if the Queen’s uncle David had remained King or if Margaret had been born first.
John Lithgow is mesmerising as Churchill though, what an actor.
