Owls boss Tony Pulis told BBC Radio Sheffield:

"It's confidence, and how do you breed confidence? We switched off twice, the first goal is comical really and then the second goal, it's just a one-two around the corner.

"Really disappointing. We changed it around in the second half, there was a lot more positivity and the shot that came off the woodwork. Those little breaks when you're going well, they go in.

"We had two or three great opportunities but the final pass [let us down]. It's difficult at the moment. Dominic Iorfa has done his Achilles. We don't want to lose him. In training he's like a Rolls-Royce."

Barnsley manager Valerien Ismael told BBC Radio Sheffield:

"I know the meaning of this game, I feel it in the changing room with these guys. Especially for our fans. A big win tonight and it'll give us great confidence for the next game on Tuesday.

"We are a young team. We have to accept that we can make mistakes. But we believed in ourselves to come back into the game. We did it against Birmingham and tonight it was the same response.

"It's a good feeling. We have the capacity now to come back in any game."

A lovely read to start a Saturday evening!

A good win indeed , let's not forget how bad they are tho , from what I've seen and read we should have nailed the Cellar Dwelling Fritzels by 3 or 4 , let's not get carried away , we have achieved my target of 25pts before Xmas , we need another 27pts from the remaining games minimum to stay up , it's looking good just now , still a long way to go , and who knows if the ££££ signs may disrupt our Season in January ? ,
As for that lot in S6 they are in serious bother , How Sad !

I dont think it will need 52 pts to be safe this season Roma, it could be about 49 ish. But yes of course we need that total as soon as possible.

As for Tony Putrid referring to us as Wimbledon like, well what on earth does that make his garbage team then eh ?.
And whatever happened to slimy Sam's dream career move there eh lol.

A nice steady stress free season Roma was what was needed after the last three seasons .

I'm happy enough at that personally .

Not even looking any further forward than that and as you say it would be wise to keep our feet on the ground , plenty been relegated from the position we hold tonight , Hull City and Charlton last season for instance .

We are doing alreight , nowt much more than that .

Thoroughly deserved , some flaky moments no doubt and seems worse because of our awful record at that oil .

A real team effort for me .

Well done to Val and the lads , absolutely delighted tonight to be sitting on 25 points before boxing day .

Hey, we shipped four... and I’ve had stick this week, as I’m sure you have. Normally at this time, just before we play them, there’s a lot of banter, but neither of us are confident......... but I reckon that the 7 day break will favour us.... but I’m saying nowt.
Not the same when you know you won’t be going.

We live on another planet Jules from your rank and file dog botherer mate .

That much I do know , two home wins equates to the play offs and a single defeat deflates them to a relegation fight .

There is no debatable middle ground to work with .

It's a hopeless task but there you are as you probably know only too well .

Significant win for your lads today I thought Frank after a bit of a poor run .

No mugs aren't Bristol by any means .

In all honesty it's probably going to go right down to the wire mate for you which isn't to say it can't be done either .

Maybe a bit of belief today could be the catalyst Frank .
