What Val's Brought To The Party In My Opinion

Isn't prepared to die on a hill that says you have to play out from the back at all costs .

Demands total professionalism , on the field , the training ground and privately .

Added a more resilient attitude to the squad .

Hasn't pinned his colours to a particular style of football other than the front three press and if it has to go long then so be it .

    I like him .

Yep - he’s one big bad dude that’s for sure.
Probably has the most powerful mindset of any Barnsley manager in my lifetime.
Knows what he wants and then drills it into the players.

I also think its worth pointing out that we have to thank Daniel Stendel and Struber for their part on where we are tonight .

This isn't by any means down to Val alone , we wouldn't even be in the championship if it wasn't for Stendel and Struber .

That said I'm very impressed with how's he's gone about putting his stamp on the club thus far .

The last couple of full time managers in Stendel and Struber, have brought a little bit extra to the team, in their term here. They've improved it in their own ways, and Val is no exception. Keep on like this and he'll become an Oakwell legend. He's already become a firm favorite of mine after the start he's had and after yesterday's result.

I'll say one thing for the hierarchy at Oakwell the last three HC's they have hired have done what they were hired to do .

Stendel , get us back to the Championship .

Struber , keep us in the championship .

Val , kick us on in the championship .... at the moment .

I'm no lover of the owners by any means but they've done alreight other than Morais in that respect .

    Yes very much agree.
The success of any club starts at the very top.
These owners - and I would imagine James Cryne has played a major role here - have brought in some fantastic managers.

And importantly - managers THAT FIT THE SYSTEM - so there is a continuity as one manager leaves another similar type slots straight in.
As Patrick said a few years ago - we want to create a system where the goalkeeper is the first line of ATTACK.
And that’s what we are seeing now.

As for Val , he's doing really well for us just nar , It could all change in January if he dunt get what he wants , previous two have tried this and got hardly anything they wanted, he won't hang around here for long , his stock is high at the moment , and other suitors will have taken notice , Let's wait and see , am not holding my breath though ,
