    Gerard Houlier has passed away

    Grerard was only 73.

    Another spooky moment for me.

    For some reason I found myself thinking about him on Friday evening.

    He’s been on borrowed time for about 15 years though since his aorta ruptured, my dad died from the same problem whilst on the operating table.

    Only about 5% of people survived that operation at that time so I hope he’s appreciated the last 15 years, he was a very lucky man.

    Gary Lineker, who played for Merseyside rivals Everton, called him one of the "smartest, warmest and loveliest people in football".
