Dundee United are ready to join Aberdeen in the pre-contract fight for Ross County striker Ross Stewart.

United boss Micky Mellon is a big fan of the striker and has been on his wanted list since the start of the season.

United tried to strike a deal with County in the last window but were unable to meet County’s asking price.

The Tannadice club, however, would be keen to land him on a pre-contract for next season.

Marc McNulty is due to return to Reading in the summer and that would leave Mellon on the lookout for another striker.

Would agree 100% with that. Could be a great addition if we can land him but you have to expect he'll opt for the land of darkness and damp granite.

I think Utd will be looking at deal which takes McMullen county. County manager already tried to sign him.

Never really thought that much of him to be honest, another ok striker whose goal ratio is beefed up by penalties.

Definitely better than Brian Graham though lol.

This for me. One goal from open play this season vs Arbroath. Looks like another player who was half decent in the lower leagues but very average after making the step up.
