Watch Ben Turner's interview. Really interesting and you'll see the part Ardley played. Challenged the players as to how much they want it.

Exactly a great probing pass having spotted Brindley overlapping at speed, although ultimately a failed one as well cut out but that was awful from the Stockport lad not to just clear it for corner or thrown in. He was then weak, Wootton and Reeves both showing lots of composure in the penalty area.

Good goal and rightly praised on TV

Yes it was very interesting to hear. Ardley also said he'd challenged them regarding their winning mentality. Some interesting revelations I thought.

Didn’t see the game last night, but it sounds like it was a solid, workmanlike performance against a good team. 3 points against Stockport very welcome, but it needs to be followed up with 3 points against King’s Lynn. My bet is it won’t be, so it’s still #Ardleyout for me, just in case anyone thinks people who want to get rid of the manager change their mind after a good win.

I'm the same BFP "Ardley Out"* and we must follow this great result up with a victory against King's Lynn.

    * Unless he gets us promoted.

Turner’s interview (which I’ve only just watched) must be one of the best I’ve ever seen given by any footballer. Instead of trotting out the same old hackneyed phrases, as so many of them do (resulting in complete boredom for the viewer), there was real honesty there, which gave an insight into the life of a professional footballer. And there was quite a bit of humour too!

What a superb interview that is. He is so honest about things admitting he isnt the most talented player on the pitch but he gives his all. Anybody who has a problem with him needs to have a good think. We need players like Ben who care about the club his fellow players and wanting for our club to be successful. Fair play to you Ben we all make mistakes but you keep giving us your best. Thats all we ask

I'd like to think that some of the pitchfork brigade cringed with embarrassment after watching that. He, along with the rest of them, are normal people that happen to be footballers for a short period in their lives, whereas half of the pitchfork mob have probably excelled in lobbing a few darts over their beer guts.

Echo those sentiments, quickly forwarded the interview to friends. Really interesting to hear that clearly no matter how much how higher up the football pyramid he's played he was "professionally on the floor' after the Halifax costly error. No matter what level, when you are responsible for letting team mates down it hurts no matter how old, experienced or at what level.

He's bounced back incredibly well, unsurpsin so many comments on social media after Play off final and Halifax about getting rid, get him out of the club, I'd drive him away anywhere etc. Total overreaction we sadly come to expect in the internet era.

Also, very interested to hear the managers blunt, to the point comments to the players about desire, going the extra mile etc. Comparing them to our better performing visitors. Love the fact he was rightly offended by the question, statement and saw it as a challenge .

No wonder he waxed lyrical about Stockport pre game to the media as well as the players. Clearly worked a charm. Shame that tactic doesn't work against poorer opposition. He still needs to find the right pre match motivation for those sort of games.

That interview was so far away from the usual standard post match player interview.
