Not that we’re world beaters, but these are the sort of games we really must do the business in.

Watched them against Baggies, Baggies by far the better footballing team, stuffed by two set piece goals (Leeds please take note!). We have made them look like they are (and so are we at present) survival candidates, not world-beaters, and better survivors that they are!.

We need a cushion though otherwise any chance Newcastle get they are likely to score.

Barcodes are truly bad given how much they have spent and the quality some of the players they have - Darlow has been their standout player.

Rodrigo and Raphinha look fabulous - starting to link up well together too.

Klich and Phillips look way below their best and Harrison isn’t having his best game.

Newcastle should be in their traditional black & white stripes. Wearing UNNECESSARY away strips is purely marketing and is ruining the spectacle of some of these titanic clashes of days gone by. I guess we'll be in red when we go to Newcastle. Even here in NZ, where only the super rich have a colour TV, an all white strip doesn't clash with black & white stripes on my black and white TV.

On a separate (but related) note: With most teams having three goalkeeping shirts, it totally bemuses me that many teams field a GK in the same colours as the officials.

The officials should also have different socks and shorts to either of the two teams (plus goalkeepers).

Pet peeve of mine. As a player, you often have a fraction of a second to assess what’s around you and sock colour (and boots) really help.
