Who knows different team, different outcome. Could av scored 10 goals for us with the chances we create. Also could have scored 1 and that was a penalty after Cauley was subbed.
On the whole would av been better with us.

I think we missed a trick wi Dykes. He would've given us extra edge and another dimension up front. He would've suited Valeries long ball style and been able to hold it up and rough up opposition defenders. He was Championship ready.

A still say big Vic is more an impact player just at present. He's doing all the right things and fair play to him. Chuck him the odd start and take it from there. Sometimes it's best not to expect too much too soon and if Victor wo starting regularly it could easily go the other way if things dint go right. Obviously he's high on confidence, it'd be wise to keep it that way.

In Victor we potentially a fine championship striker in the making. From what I've seen he has a decent touch, good awareness, good strength, good finishing ability, good work rate. I can't say how good he is in the air because I haven't seen him involved too much in ariel duels or how he is on set pieces.

Yep ..... we are still missing a target man that can hold the ball up and bring others into play.
Woodrow has played really well since I posted the initial post - but he isn’t a target man - he loses far more duels than he wins.
Woodrow along with Chaplin and Schmidt are what I would describe as ‘fox in the box’ types of players that thrive off another striker being able to control the ball and lay it off.
We need a Trevor Aylott - who didn’t score that many but made things happen.

As for Victor - a season or two to develop his upper body strength and we have another player with a high value.

I think we should bring a couple of Dyke style players in January to compliment our existing strike force. No point signing one when you need two to be effective with squad rotation.

Ad definitely bring in one Steve. With Victor starting to emerge wiv a player already there in the making so perhaps bringing in 2 is unnecessary.

    Left back is essential too.

Let's face it, with a couple of key injuries we're not the same. We're relegation fodder should we lose certain players. Cardiff away proved that for me.

Valerie has pointed art how unbalanced this squad is. He's done remarkably well to get us into mid table and looking comfortable. 2 quality additions in January allows us to have a comfortable stress free season and build further towards next season.

I agree Pass. We need left back cover and a striker. I'd be happy to keep all our players, maybe extend James' loan and it would be a good window. We definitely need depth in quality too.

Maybe shift on Schmidt, Miller and Bahre.

Yes that’s what we need - more big Dykes in Barnsley.
