Is anyone thinking that Lai will fund the purchase of enough players to give us a chance of survival? I doubt it. I wasn’t overly chuffed at the appointment of Fat Sam but this isn’t his fault; the fault lies fairly and squarely at Lai’s door, with his lackies ‘Ken’ and Downing in the room with him.

My thoughts. Nothing. Just don’t know where we go from here with this bunch. Thoroughly dispiriting. Danger as I see it is we waste the next four months bringing in has-beens in the vain hope of staying up ..... when we should be preparing for life back in the Championship.

As I have said on this site several times before ..... we have not been playing well since February. In fact based on our H2 performances in the Championship we would have been in the bottom half the table judged on the last 23 games. And then in the summer we spent £40m on Grant, Diangana and Pereira who have all been so disappointing in the Prem bar one or two flashes. We just ain’t good enough and it’s painful to watch.

And ..... you look back at the last team we had in the Prem when we got relegated ..... Foster, Dawson, Evans, Gibbs, Morrison, Brunt, Livermore, JRod, Krychowiak, Rondon, Field, Barry, Macaulay, Yacob, Chadli, Leko, Hejazi etc .... maybe an aging squad .... and lacking upfront ...... but compared with what we have today .... shows how far we have fallen .... in a short period ....
