I think last night was fairly straightforward to analyse. When Barnsley were direct we coped pretty comfortably but for the two goals we allowed the better players to punish us. Mowatt on the ball, Woodrow makes a semi decent run which isnt blocked, straight ball kills us and he scores easily. Second goal styles gets all the space in the world down our right after a really ill timed turnover by Wiles, he passes to Mowatt and a quality finish. Basically their best 3 players made the difference and we allowed it through mistakes. Small margins as we had nowt else to really worry us all game. Pleasantly surprised that we didnt look fatigued particularly and, whilst we huffed and puffed, they were comfortable. Wiles does great work down the left considering he is very unnatural there but still runs down blind alleys, dont blame him for that because its just not his position, as hard as he tries. Hirst and Flo back in Jan for me and see who else we can get. Vass runs hard and puts pressure on but never looks dangerous, that extra few percent of quality unfortunately lacking

Some of the criticisms on here of PW are as best unhelpful, at worst disrespectful and certainly unwarranted.
He's had so many issues go against him this season and he's been swimming against the tide for a long time now.

A lengthy injury list and never being able to put out a settled squad
Players clearly still affected with personal issues
LTI,s involving two of our most influential players this season in SMac and Oggy
He's had to self isolate and miss games and training sessions
    Covid within his own family
His marquee signing in Hirst has turned out to be ineffective and remember that most of us endorsed this signing
    This covid outbreak
EFL allowing points to be gifted back to a relegation rival
EFL singling us out with our own special playing circumstances
Lapses in concentration and bad luck in overtime with us shipping hard earned points
Questionable refereeing decisions and assessments of reasonable time to add on at the end of a game
    There's probably more

There's a transfer window about to open, players are starting to come back from injury and we,ve played than less than half of our games.
The least we can do is Give the lad a chance to turn it around. No point with the sustained criticism, it won't help us accumulate some points and will erode confidence at the club. The criticism from a month or so ago seeped its way to the players and management team and clearly affected Warney

There was an article in the Yorkshire Post recently, or it may have been the Star, where Neil Warnock says he fully endorses PW as our long term solution. He even went as far as advising Tony on the golf course not to do anything rash. So for the master tacticians on here there is an endorsement from one of the greatest Managers and tacticians we have witnessed in that PW is the right man for us.

Well said flour although there'll be a few on here who still think they know better than the manager, that just seems to be part of their character.
Cardiff up next so let's hope for an improvement in fortunes in that game.

Some good points made there flour, but PW can't be above criticism, as long as its constructive. I love our manager to bits, but all season he has been constantly saying how good the quality of opposition are, and whilst I dont disagree with him, it cant be good for the confidence of our players to keep hearing or reading these things so I would prefer him to concentrate more on what we can do, and keep his thoughts more to himself.
With the injury list we have, I just hope we can keep within touching distance of the 4th bottom team until a few of them are back, because if we can then we will have a real shout at survival, but if we get cast adrift then it's a long way back, and we could be as good as relegated. All in all we gave it a decent shot last night against an in form team, and on the plus side we didn't get hammered, which considering the circumstances, was a bonus.
We move on to the next game and surely we now know we can compete, even with the virus in the camp, so let's stop worrying about things that we cant control, like the EFL making us play, and concentrate on how best to overcome it, UTM.

Warney wants to get back behind the xmas tree like his xmas message, that is scary! Anybody been watching horseracing been 4 days of exciting, informative action. Advert for some bookies on there, this Scotchman looks abit like Steve Evans after his horse wins shouting " I love you!!! " brilliant!

We cant afford to pay for that. 2 sloppy early goals gave us no chance basically. You cant put old man wood uo agsinst woodrow . There is only gonna be one winner. Im coming to terms with us likely going down but just pray for some gems in the teansfer window we shall see...

Dont think it matters who we sign.In this league giving the ball away is a crime, and at the end of the season we will be sentenced.I am fed up of seeing the defenders just heading or kicking it as far as they can, when not even under pressure.Apart from Olosunde, none of them have any poise, or belief on the ball.Harding cant manage to kick it ten yards without it going out of play.We dont seem to learnt any lessons from our previous stints in the Championship.
