You didnt read what I said MT. I said "if the benchmark is Hirst and Vasdell...". Were not benchmarking against championship standard forwards because we dont have any. Our best forwards, Smith and Ladapo, arent Championship standard.

If you're telling me warne is about to bring in two or three genuine championship standard forwards then by all means leave Kayode where he is. Do you think that's about to happen? I dont.

And Hirst and Vassell have scored how many, even between them? Oh and you’ve forgot Kayode’s International goal 😉 At their current state of play, JJ couldn’t do any worse only better.

Well Pip was comparing him to Vardy which is why I replied. His record does not suggest hes anything like Vardy.

I dont want to knock Kayote who probably has some potential as a 20 year old.

But, 3 in 17 at a club which is current 3rd in L2 cannot be compared to our strikers at a struggling Championship club. You could say we are are struggling because of Hirst and Vassell. But could not say with any certainty Kayote would do better. His record doesnt suggest that.

My view on young developing players is that they need to get games under their belt in competitive football. This is a key development phase of his life. Playing regularly at Carlisle will be better for him than sitting on the bench for us or playing in a struggling team that will almost certainly hinder his progress. Too many young players move up the levels too early, play too little first team football as a result which kills off their career (Hoskins springs to mind). I sincerely hope Warne does the right thing with this player.

I was inferring that there are some nuggets out there. We have one that’s gone to L2 to be polished up and maybe we need to get him back to see how shiny he now is!

Maybe he needs to stay out of loan somewhere to balance the books.
Although he might be a free hit in terms of being outside the 25 man squad he's still got to be paid.
If we want to wheel and deal in the transfer market then we'll need every penny to get the best quality possible .
Also Tony,s finest Cohiba Cuban cigars won't be cheap if there's anything left after funding our hobby

Your post highlights the problem with football Flour because its all about price. There is no thought of the development of the player. If we do the best for the player we will get the best return.

    Fair point.
It might be a win win situation though.
Staying out on loan somewhere might be the best for his career and might be better for PW,s immediate plans to resurrect the season.
It appears as though He has made his decision, as reported in the Tiser, so I'm more than happy to accept his judgement

This is like the Yates debate again but with kayode this time..

If he’s not going in first team here,I would call him back see if there is any interest in league one,and test him at next level up.if not maybe send him back to Carlisle, they will want him and maybe if we are smart charge then them a loan fee.if they want to go up like Swindon did with yates they will pay it..

We are not exactly Chelsea of the championship with loans, but we should do what’s best for our players and for us.and until we get a foothold in championship we are going to have this Debate time and time again with young players, and with any saleable assets for that matter..

Sheff Utd have just introduced a 16 year old player to their game... yes 16 years old! No, he’s not been out on loan. One so young and playing a Premier league game.

Like I said, get Kayode back, drop Vassell and Hirst and use Smith, Ladapo/ Kayode as our 3 front players.

Who says you can’t use young untried players?
