Just thought I’d add a memory...during my working days (1974) in Millstone Lane (there was a Brewery I think over the ring road at the end of Millstone Lane ?) one of the guys I worked with lived in a thatched property in Newton Linford. Quite a smart village I seem to recall ?
PS It was claimed that Leicestershire was the wealthiest County ? Not sure what the assessment criteria was, but at that time the textile industry was booming.

You're quite correct Prando. Apparently, when I first went to Leicester in 1964 it was the second richest city in Europe. Gone down the pan since then!

Superb post Exiled, and wishing you all the best Mick - I recall you posting that you planned to sell your business, it will leave a void in your life and many of us spend more time working than we realise.
