"Why the hell did we do it??"

    Where to start ?

I think the fact that we will no longer send them £350,000 a week (£18 million a year) and we can now spend it on the NHS instead, or indeed our cash strapped Care system, is as good a place to start as any.

11 pm, I shall be popping my cork BT, I shall toast you and all who sailed in the good ship Brexit. To the pirates who tried to board it and sink it, I shall wave two fingers in their general direction, especially that obnoxious Soubry woman.

I’ve moved two ways on the wine sinkov - naked wines is worth a look if your not already in it - can pay a monthly figure ( that’s always yours ) to build up a pot for vino they invest it in vineyards - winemakers who aren’t well known but produce some fabulous wines naked get the distribution rights ans we all win ( us Angels anyway as at reduced rates ).

Tbh I’m drinking a vintage champagne at the price of normal ones - it makes a difference though they aren’t big well known names.

The good thing is when you buy if you like it builds a profile up f your tastes a nd what will suit you.

My other is Vivino - great downloadable app same principal as above re profiling your likes - dis likes ( been drinking quite a bit of primitivo and puglia wines - good value - my favourites are amarone - ripasso but these are cheaper and good value for money.

Cheers Army, I was an Angel for about three years, never a problem, it worked well, every bottle excellent. I packed it in perhaps 18 months ago, I was reading about the ownership, I had thought Majestic had bought them out, but it turned out it was the other way round, this seemed odd to me, it didn't appear to be the business model I'd thought it was, and the ownership seemed to have changed, then I read they were trying to expand into the American market, alarm bells started ringing, and I pulled my money out, I just didn't feel it was safe anymore. If you're with them and happy, and they're still going strong, then maybe I got jittery for no good reason.

I'll have a look at Vivino, at the moment I get my wines mostly from Majestic, invariably excellent, Byrnes in Clitheroe, whose range of French wines I've never seen the like of, even in France, and sometimes Waitrose if they have a decent offer on.

I love Puglia wines, never had a duff one yet, and Primitivo is one of my go to wines in restaurants, usually pay £18/20, and it's reliably good. I did try an Amarone a few months ago, it was OK but I thought over-priced, I think I paid over £30 for it and I reckoned I could get as good for a tenner less.

    Take care mon ami.

All well and good Mon Ami.

But Europeans have been leaving the UK in large numbers recently.

This is bad news for our NHS, which has around 100,000 unfilled posts, and 112.000 vacancies in social care, a large proportion of who are on zero hour contracts.

Other sectors have been affected as well.

But we can now take people from the rest of the world 59

Latest NHS staff figures August 2020 say
Professionally qualified clinical staff* make up over half of the HCHS workforce (52.7% (612,087) FTE) in August 2020. This is 5.0% (29,420) more than in August 2019.
682,452 Headcount in August 2020. This is 4.8% (30,962) more than in August 2019.

    * This group includes all HCHS doctors, qualified nurses and health visitors, midwives, qualified scientific, therapeutic and technical staff and qualified ambulance staff

With thousands losing their jobs because of Lockdowns, this seems good news to me 59.

I am not sure that jobs having Zero hours contracts is good news. One of my grandchildren was unfortunate to get a job at McDonalds the way they treated their staff was appalling. Scheduling an 8 hour shift with a 04:30 start where there is no public transport meaning the only way to get to work was a taxi, which incurred extra fare because of the time. Then told to go home at 07:30 as there was not enough work for them, hardly earned enough to pay the taxi fare incurred earlier.
