I am hoping that the vaccinations will sort us all out. You may be too pessimistic.

Pheww, glad this will be the last new virus ever so we don't have to do this all over again.

Pheww, glad the nhs will never have their annual winter crisis again so we don't have to do this all over again....every year.

Pheww, glad there must be evidence somewhere that says the vaccine will make a significant difference to policy decisions

Pheww, glad that politicians haven't had a taste of poking thier snouts into every aspect of our lives or they may just want to continue.

Pheww, glad that the 3 weeks to flatten the curve hasn't lasted 10 months....Imagine if politicians thought we would believe anything.

Pheww, glad people arnt swallowing the bull 're masks when.......ach you're right pessimistic.😁

You are a ray of sunshine! I think railing against the evidence that shows the number of infections and the deaths is not helping. Saying that things are wrong doesn't help IMO. There is something worrying that the official responses to this wave of the covid virus are different for the second wave. I really don't understand why we didn't go straight into a lockdown situation similar to the one that flattened the curve in April May etc.

Because it didn't, peak in deaths was already passed and the season was moving into spring/summer.

Sorry b cram, freedom and liberty have been sacrificed far far far too much already....I just don't comply anymore....not that I did much complying anyway.

If you think things are going back to what they were pre covid.....sorry but you are wrong.

Lockdown 4 on the way....perma tier system for the foreseeable possibly forever.

Hearing there's been protests in Czech Republic because the government are closing pubs. People are angry.

Let that sink in for a second.

Czech Republic was a communist country until 1989 but the people there won't accept the same government removal of their liberties that we seem happy to accept here. We really need to get angry about this whole situation.

They must appreciate their freedom more, possibly because they have experienced what happens when the state take control.

I've a theory that some people don't like freedom, they like the thought of it but not the responsibility and they are happy for someone or something to take that responsibility away so they can have a perceived simpler life.....whilst accepting the constraints.

Rross, is it possible that exactly the same will happen this summer? I think that the vaccine will work because it is a new vaccine that is designed to counter covid 19. If it is effective, without modification, against the mutation that seems to be a major difference between how it works and flu vaccines. You and Deeranged quite rightly point out the change in the way our country is being governed. This is a problem but as exemplified by Deeranged's reference to Czech Republic it is not unique to our country.
I think social media and the concentration of control of it in the hands of 2 or 3 massive corporations is a much more worrying turn of events. It seems to me that people power is just a few clicks away and the type of woke and anti establishment agendas are much nearer the 1984 scenarios. These Big Brothers are much more dangerous than any democratically government IMO.

Agree with a lot of that.

The great barrington declaration, the Danish mask study and other things all mysteriously vanish or become incredibly difficult to find.

But democracy is a strange concept these days, you are really only allowed to participate fully if you agree with the narrative, stray away from that and you are putting you're job, livliehood and what's left of your liberty at risk.

Here's a wee question for you Bcram.

I turn up at Dens park tomorrow with a 40 foot by 20 foot union flag with DFC since 1893 emblazoned across it.......do you think it would get past the front door?

I think not.....I wish I had a 40 foot by 20 foot flag to put my theory to the test.

Pondlife like Hitchens, Toby Young, Pearson, Fox, Hartley-Brewer are only interested in their own self-promotion. Assange is light years away from the likes of Hitchens, but he's not a far-right libertarian **** so he's in jail. Hitchens ridiculed actual scientists and doctors who forecast a 2nd wave, now that it's killed 30k in England, he's back to talking ****e about how no democracy has handled covid well, which is a bare-faced lie.
