I fully understand Wes Thomas’s situation and like everyone else he is human and will be wanting to do what’s best for himself and his family.

This is where leadership is now needed within in the game. Testing for all teams should be mandatory before any game at all elite levels as a bare minimum.

Likewise before Saturday the season should be mothballed for at least a month. It’s non sensical that we are in a situation worse than the first peak and footballers are going all over the country to play a game of football. It’s not worth it.

A month winter break would mean the season would need to be extended by a month to the end of June like last year. It might help with revenue as well as fans might be allowed in stadiums again by then.
