My 90 year old mum in a rest home still hasn't had her first jab yet and she's supposed to be top of the list.
My 91 year old father-in-law has cancer and we cannot get him a vaccine. Usual Hancock's Half Hour's comedy nonsense.
My 95 year old Mum is in a Care home down here in Cardiff and we haven't heard anything either.
At least the Queen got vaccinated so we can rest easy.
I should hope so too!
How are the armed forces going to cope with a State Funeral when they are busy dealing with the distribution of vaccine, Covid testing, operations against terrorsits etc. You can't just take them off those duties for a socially distanced State Funeral so it makes complete sense to me that HM has been vaccinated so that the distribution etc. is not disturbed.
No --I am deadly serious because I have been involved in State Funerals and you can guarantee that this virus would not stop one taking place, particularly in the case of our longest serving monarch.
This would definitely have an effect on everything because they don't just happen, there is a lot of preparation involved because it has to be correct!
You may not like it because you are anti-monarchist, however, I just look at it from the point of view of how the establishment works and what would be expected, no matter how I feel about the monarchy and the many hangers-on.
It might be,but they would be in right pickle at the moment if anything happened to her or the Duke of Edinburgh. There is sufficient love in the country for the monarchy that they would have to do everything "right" and that would create another massive problem for the authorities in what is an already exceedingly difficult situation.
