O/T:- Reminder to all fellow members: NCM situation

    Hi all

Just a quick note to remind everyone who's been here a long time and to inform those who are more recent arrivals that this messageboard is still under close scrutiny for anything that could put FootyMad at risk of legal action. Things such as racism, hate speech etc. are what they are looking for.

Please can we all bear this in mind? If this place shuts down it will bring to an end a long and memorable era of Notts fans' online communities stretching back to the beginning of the World Wide Web and leave us only the 'Wild West' scenario of social media.

It seems that in recant months things have become quite dark on occasion and sailed ever closer to the wind. Let's be careful out there fellow posters! Personally I don't want any more rude private messages about people's individual feelings or squabbles. If you see anything that strikes you as genuinely 'over the top' please use the 'Report Post' button below the offending post. To those who might think this is 'a bit of fun' and who misuse the report post function, please remember that you are putting this entire community at risk.

    Swale out.

Interesting turn of phrase - anyone specifically in mind?

Obviously it's triggered by a recent turn of events but in general no.

If threads are not football related, they should be deleted, OT or not

Ironic that it's usually the OT threads that nearly always cause these issues on what is supposed to be a football forum. Most of us want to come on here and actually read footy related stuff.

I see no problem if the thread is marked as OT, as long as it doesn't descend into abuse or petty squabbles.

I have loads of TV channels but if I don't like the look of a programme I don't put it on. And if I do but am fed up of it, I just turn it off.

There are petty squabbles that appear on just about every thread, Some folk just can’t let it go. Some on here take great pride in winding folk up which I find very sad.

I like your analogy re. TV channels and couldn’t agree more.

Am I aloud to use ‘lol’?

I think you're missing the point somewhat..

But they usually do turn into petty squabbles, especially the political threads.

I don't think petty squabbles are the issue here, all message boards have them.

It's more when things get extreme and leave Footymad open to legal action.
