Interesting Ram...really surprising figures, I think only the two Koreas and Cuba (?) have a greater % of trained soldiers, in relation to the size of population, than Israel.
We do have a quarter of a million of some sort of soldiers though. Must admit I’d rather be jabbed by a trained nurse than some hairy arsed soldier boy, but if this really is a race between the vaccine and the virus maybe it’s a case of needs must...assuming we have enough vaccine of course.

These countries all have some form of national service, whereby discipline had been instilled in the whole of the population at a young age, something I feel that this country would benefit from in one form or another, but that's a whole new topic.

‘National’ as opposed to ‘Military’ service I think there’d be a case for...although didn’t Teddy Boys coincide with the days of National Service in the fifties and early sixties? Not much of an advert for discipline having been ‘instilled at a young age’.

Graham Norton has admitted that he thinks it’s “extraordinary” that Priti Patel is “in charge of anything”.

Speaking to The Sunday Times, the TV presenter offered up his opinions on a number of political figures, including Conservative home secretary Patel.

“I mean, it’s extraordinary she’s in charge of anything,” Norton said. “Her life does seem to have been, you know, untroubled by success.”

He continued: “But she’s in that job and she seems to love it. There’s one in every school, right? Telling on people and monitoring the lunch queue: ‘There’s no saving places!’ That’s her.”

I have to add that its extraordinary that a one trick pony such as Graham Norton is still on TV. And for a bit part actor on Father Ted to be taken seriously as a political critic, really?

Lol...spot on. I reckon Gavin Williamson would have been another to fit that description. Class ‘sneak’ or milk monitor perhaps. Certainly equally ‘extraordinary that he’s in charge of anything’.

I recall a huge plus of being milk monitor was that you could guzzle many extra one third pint bottles. Guess that's why I only lasted 2 weeks in the role. Then Thatcher snatched it all away
